What it really comes down to is greed. TSF feels that getting something is better than nothing so they take the lower road while their integrity goes on a bender.

Well I think for whatever it's worth there is something that may be of benefit to people.  First any who are hard corp pirates aren't going to be swayed in the least by such agreements.  However, if the audience for these sites include those who were naive and foolish, I'm thinking youth here, then some may end their stealing ways.  I can't see how this agreement can harm TSF and the potential to end a degree of problems in this area is there.  I hope it works out for them.

BX: You really are an idiot. Hyperdesk patches in memory. If you're going to keep talking about us, it would be nice to get your facts straight at least once. And since you felt the need to post the coupon code I'm going to give them another one. Something catchy like: BX-IS-AN-ASSHAT. I'll make sure they post that to all their members. And why are you on there anywhere? Just doing "recon"? I'll bet. I was on their to remove my copyrighted works - our themes and artwork. I'm sure you weren't there downloading themes and apps. And the title of this little forum post isn't written as someone's opinion. It's stated as a fact: TSF Backstabbed the Skinning Community. Not BX Thinks TSF Backstabbed the Skinning Community which would be written as a personal opinion. Your title borders on defamation since our actions affect our business not the skinning community. All it takes is one person to come on here saying they won't buy our product because of what you wrote and i can prove damages. We're not part of this community. We don't post our work here. I come on once in awhile. We do belong to the deviantART community.

This is a reminder to all posters that those who cannot treat others with respect on the forums will be banned.

You must be talking about me Neil right? Since you posted that after my comment. But let's not talk about how its not nice to lie about a company in the title of the post. To defame. Let's just make sure no one gets their feelings hurt. We wouldn't want that to happen.

My post was directed to everyone who has posted on this thread (and those are considering doing so).  This is the kind of thread that can get out of control very quickly and I would prefer if we avoided that.

As for the subject, its not up to me to control that, but I will make sure it is raised with those who can make a decision on that.

It would be to anyone who launches a personal attack....calling someone an idiot would do that.

You're right this type of thread can get out of control. The point is, it should never been allowed to stay up. The title is libelous. Wait, let me rephrase this, it should be allowed to stay up with a proper, non-libelous title. The topic/conversation is legitimate. The title that everyone on the index page of this site sees is not. Because it is stated as fact. When it's not.

However, I don't mind the conversation. I did what's best for my company in this situation. And will do it again given the same circumstances. They've stopped posting our work in the front of their forums. I don't care what they do in the shadow forums Dog, I just don't want it front and center so everyone can just go and steal it. This isn't much different than what the Movie Studios and even Microsoft does. China doesn't pay 20 USD for a movie from the studio, they pay much less. The people that go to this site are not looking to buy something. So why not make the real thing more attractive to them so maybe they do? Now i don't have to sit there and send cease and desist letters to them. It's nice. Meanwhile Stardocks MyColors themes are all over that place but you don't see any Hyperdesk themes.

I have to agree.. the OP states it as fact, when it is actually just his opinion and that in effect is libelous.

Oh and I retract my statement calling BX an idiot. He's really a hero. For going to that bad, bad place and doing "recon". We all know he wasn't there for the free applications, movies and MyColors themes... he was there to protect Stardock IP and truth, justice and the American way. I'm getting a little choked up now. I think I have to go. It's getting hard to type through my watery (but not itchy) eyes.

I don't care what you do on outside forums, Jeff.  It's your perogative, go for it.  However, please don't sit there and they say Mycolors themes are all over the place and hyperdesk themes aren't, that is just ridiculous.  Everyone deals with piracy in different way, and everyone will have their own opinion about it.

As it has already spawned personal attacks, then I'm going to leave it at that.

I have re-titled the topic as the OP is posting an *opinion*.

My personal opinion is that the themes in question are property of TSF and NOT of "the community". They are free to sell them in whatever way they see fit.
