Ok, impulse now dropped me back to 1.90.033 and regardless of "show previews" setting it doesn't change. My weather docklet doesnt work which implies a way too old version. Something's fishy... Or is it simply what you tried to tell me but I didnt quite comprehend?

I read your responce but I am not sure I understand. Did you say that you lost the systray without updating? Since it sounds like a mess in there try uninstalling Object Dock then go check the directory to see if the files were totally removed. Restart your machine, then install through Impulse and not SDC. See if that works for you.

I'm not at the previous beta because SC can't find it to download it. I click the Install button in SC and after a few seconds I get an error saying that the download is not available.

Same here.

I've been using Objectdock Plus for over a year now and have been patiently waiting for things like the Startmenu problem to be fixed in a non beta release. Now with impulse's latest update my system tray icons and startmenu no longer work. I've tried reinstalling with no luck.

Very Frustrating!!!!!!

Actually I've found no indication whatsoever of any update to objectdock at all. It simply stopped working overnight. Which also is implied by some people who hasn't even run impulse or stardock central at all, and also lost their systray. As far as I know there was no patch to vista that night that could explain it. The only thing I can imagine being a problem would be that the system clock somehow is involved in this, as that's the only thing I can recall actually changed between when my systray worked and stopped working (excluding the frequent updates to the impulse software).

EDIT My system info:

OS; Vista Home Premium x64 (Swedish), 3GB RAM, ATI HD3870 GPU

I run Norton Internet Security 2009. Could that be what our troubles has in common?

What other potential culprits might there be?

Same for me. I didn't update or modify OD in any way. The system tray simply stopped working overnight.

The uninstall/reinstall method posted here did not work for me. I simply get a message that system tray and start menu functionality is not supported in 64-bit OS' now.

Uninstalling OD+, doing a cleanup Seabass suggested and re-installing fixed the issue for me on my XP SP2 machine.  Will try on my Vista rig tonight.

I was planning a complete stardock wipe with an aggressive mop-up and a dash of lemon, but since the plug was pulled on the affected beta I figure there's no point.

I'm thinking there's something strange with what your seeing in Impulse. Object Dock Plus version 1.91k[a].025 Build 538 should show for you.  A couple of people have recently posted they can't find Build 537 in SDC.  The way I'm reading Chahk reply #66 de-installing Object Dock Plus then doing a cleanup as suggested by Seabass and lastly re-installing Build 538 with Impulse got OD Plus working again for him.

Hey BDBF it looks like the beta update (1.91k (a).025) has been pulled from Impulse.  It isn't showing for me.

Yep we are narrowing the issue down but since it was the cause for the time being it is gone.

Well, now that I've followed the Support advise in this thread, my ObjectDock Plus is completely hosed. Before I did any of this I simply had no SysTray.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THE PREVIOUSLY OFFERED VERSIONS OF OBJECTDOCK PLUS.

THESE VERSIONS ARE NO LONGER OFFERED VIA IMPULSE OR STARDOCK CENTRAL. I HAVE A PAID SUBSCRIPTION AND HAVE HAD THESE VERSIONS INSTALLED PREVIOUSLY. STARDOCK SOFTWARE DOES NOT PERMIT BACKING UP OF THE DOWNLOADED SOFTWARE, SO I NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ARCHIVE THESE PROGRAMS, FOR WHICH I HAVE A PAID SUBSCRIPTION.

THIS IS WHY UPDATES OFFERED ONLY THROUGH IMPULSE ARE EVIL.

What are you on about? Just rightclick the app and choose archive, works just fine on installed software...

And you have all the software included in your subscription... Running a beta may result in unwanted effects, it's not what you paid for. You paid for access to the latest stable versions of object dock, having access to beta is just a bonus, it's not included in the price.

And give the guys a break, they're only human. It'll get fixed. You think they're just sitting there drinking coffee? I'm quite confident they are working as fast as they can to resolve this issue and supply you with that extra little piece of visual customizationcrack we all crave.

So, how does that let me move backups of those programs to a CD or file server? Also, it's not exactly an intuitive way to archive software. I only found it about an hour ago. Doesn't help me now.

I had access to DIFFERENT versions that what are offered now. Offerred DURING my subscription. I still want to use them. I should be able to download any software that I was able to download previously. That is the whole point of a subscription.

How long has ObjectDock 1.9 been in beta? <sarcasm>If they aren't sitting around drinking coffee, I don't know what they're doing.</sarcasm> I know that it's difficult when things break, but I'm not asking for a fix. I'm asking to download the same software that I downloaded previously. The same software that their tech support suggested that I uninstall from my PC.

I've gone from having ObjectDock working, except for the System Tray, to having NO ObjectDock at all!

Are you telling everyone here there is no version of Object Dock available to you at all?

Send a ticket in to [email protected] so they can address this, if that's the case.

Still waiting for a fix or some response from stardock.

I can download and install one of the other versions, but they don't work correctly on 64bit Vista.

Anyhow, I don't want to turn this into an argument, I just want to get back to the same setup that I had prior to troubleshooting the missing tray.

Okay, I know its disappointing when things don't work out right and you needed to express your disappointment.  All's good here.  Hopefully Stardock will have a satisfactory answer for you soon.

seabass.

right. I had not updated. my systray dock was there one night and also the next morning, but when I restarted (I reboot about once a week) when all had restarted, my systray dock opened without systray, only minimum 'startmenu, config and objectdock exit icons. I am still unable to uninstall beta using impulse or vista prog uninstall prog. I could go in and delete all object dock files and folder, but am still getting used to vista ultimate, but not sure of interaction with other stardock progs I have installed. so I am still using as is.
