System Tray Icons

I have ObjectDock Plus running on XP pro SP3, and I want to disply my System Tray Icons, when I select this option in the Dock Contents window, nothing appears on the dock, is this a Vista only feature or is there a way to get it to work in XP, if I can get it to work then I can get rid of the Task Bar.

is there any indication at all on if/when a new version will be coming out/if it is being worked on actively at all?
i'm sort of wondering whether to buy OD+, and reports of SD's generosity towards 'late' buyers of previous versions notwithstanding, i'd prefer not to buy it just before it is upgraded.

I also have windows XP Pro SP3 and OD Plus. I have a dock that displays only my system icons. It works perfectly for me. I simply checked display system tray icons along with my icons under dock contents. I did not place any icons in the dock and just let it display system tray icons. It worked for me and so it should work for you. My system tray icons are on the right. They disappear and show up when I place my cursor on the right side of the screen.
I wish I knew what to tell you other than it will work. See the screenshots below.
BTW That is my new granddaughter's foot and my son's hand.
