Might depend on whether the XPPro is 32bit or 64bit, not sure.  I believe it behaves the same on 32bit as it does on XPHome.

On XPHome you have to be logged on as an administrative user, or start ObjectDock using the right-click "run as" option and use an admin user name and password while logged in as a limited user.  While using the "run as" option the ltd user is actually using the admin's ObjectDock themes and can overwite one of the admin's themes if saved with the same theme name. 

Also, while logged in as a limited user, you can use the "run as" with the admin logon/passwerd once each time after the ltd user logs in to get the services started, then "Unload Object Dock", and then restart it again normally and the systray should then load, and you will no longer be sharing object dock themes between the users.  The "run as" admin has to be executed once each time after the ltd user logs in to start the systray services though.

Will give that a try and see if it works and let you know, its 32bit

I am also encoutering this problem too but my os is vista 32bit. i have tried dave RI methods but still nothing appears on my system tray. anyone could help out thanks in advance.

AyumiD I think you need sdmcp.exe running to get that to work.  The easiest way I know of is to do this through Stardock Central which can be found here. https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/

Once this is DL'd and installed then you have to set it to autoload sdmcp.exe for you.

From the Stardock Central menu select Tools then Settings.

On the left make sure that Settings - General is selected and on the right under the top heading General make sure that:

1) Enable MCP notification area support is checked and

2) Enable MCP SmartStartup is checked.

and that's it.

You also have to have Object Dock Plus for this to work.  It does not work in the free version.

If you have Object Dock Plus and are using that version not the free version, then yes install Stardock Central to get sdmcp.exe working properly. 

If you have the free version of Object Dock then you can not get the system tray to work at all.  The system tray function works in Object Dock Plus only.quote]

The link I gave you should work I think.  Impulse I don't think install sdmcp.exe at least not that I know of.  I'll look for another link if that's the problem.

Well have you tried to add the system tray function?  Open the Object Dock properties and click on Dock Contents on the left side.  Then in the other area of the panel click on Display system tray icons with my icons(Dock Contents 3rd item).  That should do it.

Okay, right click on your Dock and select About Object Dock what version and build does it show?

I have build 537 but mine is the latest beta and I think yours is the most recent stable build.  Sounds like you should de-install OD Plus Plus, reboot and then re-install OD Plus.  But, I have heard some docklets can cause problems.  Have you downloaded and installed any non Stardock docklets?

sigh tried reinstall but the problem still existed may be i jus have to leave my task bar on. btw thanks for your help too

Ok AyumiD.  But, that function should work for you.  If you feel up to it send an email to [email protected] and work with them next week.  They'll be able to dig into other possible causes for this.  I've hit all the common problems.  Also reference this thread in your email and send them the relevant information such as your OS and SP level your OD Plus version and build info and info on all your AV software.  That should give them plenty to work with.  Good Luck!
