I'm not sure I'm ok with this....medical problems aren't too funny, especially to those who have them. Granted, a key feature of humor is the ability to laugh at one's self, but ADD is
a problem that can cause families to break up.

Maybe a better choice would have been....? I don't know! (

Forgive me Dr J, but I for one am simply I'll at this whole concept of "somebody getting offended" by anything people say. You know, I remember a young lady several years ago that had CP and did stand up comedy about her affliction. She was able to laugh about it, had a good time doing it, and no small animals were harmed. People need to lighten up and quit being so damn whiny.
Hell, ED is a serious medical condition that causes families to break up. Shall we stop all the viagra jokes too? That would put Starker's right out of business!!

Yeah, I know.... my daughter had learning difficulties and problems at school because of it. Thankfully, she pretty much grew out of it as she got older and now is doing a great job at raising and teaching her own kids.

Sorry guys. I deal too much with suffering to see much humor in it. I think people can laugh at themselves, and it's a good thing, but that's not clearly happening here. I see people laughing at a condition.
If we laugh at E.D. it's because it causes so much tension that the laugh is needed to decompress.
We also laugh at stigmatizing conditions...like E.D.
But That isn't what zakai did either....it was a 'quicky'/one liner/ hit and run.
I don't want to spoil anyone's fun, so bye, and enjoy(?).

that's really not funny za..........GEEESE!

*this post by messiah1 has nothing to do with ADD at all.  It refers to a much older post about the intruding forum geese.

Oh hell. Does everything have to be some big conflict these days?

I was overtired, bored, and couldn't sleep. End of story.

But a quick question for DrJ: Before going on a tirade over it did you ask yourself if you have any idea as to whether or not I myself have ADD and am making a joke about it to lighten my own mood?

No I don't but without asking how can you have any clue if I did or not? And therefore in the future should maybe make sure you are informed before passing judgement on things.    And trying to say you are the one who can pick and choose which things should or shouldn't be joked about is not only ridiculous but hypocritical.

  to go.

Really?

And as for your pm , which could have been just as easily posted here, there was nothing in my post meant as an insult just fact. You try and go off about how it isn't appropriate but that the ED jokes are okay because sometimes they are needed to be able to laugh it off. Do you go around to everyone who makes an ED joke and make sure they really have that issue?  No. And I don't see you complaining on those. That my friend makes it hypocritical.

So anyways like has already been said. It was in jest. If you don't like it don't keep coming back to it.

No it wouldn't!!  I have a condition that Viagra doesn't really help much - the consequence of old pelvic injuries catching up with me in my old age - and if I wanna joke about ED/laugh laught at myself, I bloody well will... beats the heck out of crying over it.

In fact, a doctor once told me that if several of my family members would donate some tissue each, he could fix it without the need of constant medication... didn't help tho, he put great grandad's bit at the bottom.

No offense....but the whole medical field here in the U.S. is a joke in itself if you want to get serious. Charging people ridiculous amounts of money for "guessing" whats wrong with someone...I can do that myself without a degree...and fleecing medicaid or medicare or insurance companies at inflated prices and for procedures that sometimes weren't even done is kinda more serious than some of the problems people have.

In fact...its criminal. Doctors should change their credo to "First get paid" rather than "First do no harm."

Personally I saw nothing wrong with Za.....Oh!....Geese!
