Being stuck in Sacramento for a month is having an effect on me.. I must be too close to the Govenator.
I was under the impression both walls were of the same creator, my bad. Yes tis improper to use another artist's items for comparison unless they have offered consent.

This thread is disappointing. It's not what I expect from a WinCustomize Apprentice
I agree, and I will remove it if I have the ability. I like the other person's work. I just wanted to try to point out that I think WC needs a better method of wallpaper evaluation. Just my opinion. Thanx to all who have answered this post. I will not speak of it again.

I agree, did not see that, I will issue an apology to the artist, who does very good work IMO. I am sorry. It was not my intention to do him harm.

The walls moderation is probably the most personal of the galleries. It's not like a wallpaper can not work like a WB or DX widget."
I really take issue with this in regards to Apo flame fractals. You need a lot of skill and patience to tweak a flame into a usable image. I spend hours on each image I make and each one is unique. They do not all look alike.
If anyone thinks this is the case, I challenge you to try Apo and see if it is as simple as "point and click". Flame fractals are a different animal.
So, fellow Apoists, what say ye to this statement?
Please do not take offense to this but felt I had to state my case.

Frankief, again, the fractals example was *just* an example. There are always exceptions.

I believe his Idea was to use a simular wall to get a better understanding of the critical points to which wallpapers are moderated. I do not believe he had any ill intentions.

I did not and I am deeply sorry for my poor judgement in this matter. I sincerely apologize, Haptork. As a gesture of goodwill, I have sent you a few items , one of which you expressed an interest in on my site tonight. Please accept my deepest apologies. (

It actually never was about your wall, or mine. It was about my opinion on the way walls are moderated. Yours is good, so is mine. Yours was approved, mine wasn't. Seemed to me to be inconsistency in moderation. I was wrong, I went about it wrong, and I cannot undo it. I never said anything bad about your wall. I like your work alot and have a lot of respect for you. Again, please accept my sincere apologies.

Also it should list what is on the pp(icons,wp,wb,whatever you all are putting there that isn't in the gallery).Just an icon would do this.Date of last addition would be nice as well.
I,or anyone else could go to the directory, see a skinner has WP's for instance on his or her page and go take a look.
Far easier than visiting every personal page, imo.
Keep y'all from visiting mine by mistake, looking for talent!

IF a wall is overly simple to create/reproduce the issue is that it is VERY likely to be repeated.
One of the 'old rules of wall moderation' [sins] was called 'the blue swirlie'. They were a no-no, not because someone didn't like blue.....or swirls....but in fact because most people prefer walls in blue ....and a 'swirl' is about the simplest 'filter'/function you can apply to an image.
We get a few per week submitted....and if they're lucky they get as far as PP.
Fractals are essentially point-and-click-go-make-a-coffee-come-back-and-upload-the-result...and can be 'made' as quickly as your CPU allows. Some look OK, actually...but most are repetitive and are only slight deviations from the default/predictable.
In order to save people from having to wade through a bottomless sea of repetition in the gallery there'll be a tendency to redirect the 'flood' to the Personal Pages.
Re fractals....I remember my seeing the first one....and being amazed by the mathematics that it represented/generated...that the closer you focus in/enlarge it....the more it's repeated. Did I rush off and declare it/they make brilliant walls?....er....no....
