I need a litte help to get skin to work (New to this)

That's the link to the skin I've downloaded. If you look to the right of the picture you can see the time, day, weather and stuff. I like that whole temple. But I don't know how to get that stuff visible. I can load the skin in WindowBlinds to skin windows, but do I need another program to bring up the time, day, weather and so?

Yes, I've got WindowBlinds installed. So you mean the content to the right only works if I have Windows Vista? I have XP, so it won't work then?

There are other sidebar apps you can try running. Desktop Sidebar has a good following.

~ Yup .. and I should know .. I skin and design them .... Loads of skins , loads of applications and panels .. I know I would be lost without it .. and it works on XP and Vista too ...
Totally free as well , which is quite cheap too !!

Its just a shame that WC won't put up an Official Desktop Sidebar Gallery here ...
It seems a bit unfair on memebers to have to leave the site to download for example , a Sidebar that I have made as part of a Theme or Suite ...
Oh well ... the Evangelism continues, eh ?

I have just sent an email to Kdam .. the developer of Desktop Sidebar and I have asked him to get in touch .... Not being technical , ( as you know I only skin them ..) , I am not too sure of what Requirements are needed to enable WC to open up a Gallery for uploading ... It might be a software issue , or summat like that ...
~ So hopefully things will start moving ...
Myself , I am toying with an idea to set up a Mirror Website so that people can download skins from there as well , and as you know, any extra coverage / publicity in this case would certainly help the cause ...
Oh well ... back to Vexa Steel Sidebar !!

Mike . . . from waht I understand all it takes is the apps owners consent/interest and "seed" skins. Is there an interest on the DS forums to upload here (other than you)? WC is teh #1 skinning site (I just made that up but it is possible true ) on the net and can offer significant exposure for skinners.

~ Zubaz I believe there is a lot of interest ... I am going to check out the boards on DS and see if I can post a couple of polls .... as for seed skins , if I take that literally do you mean a token few to get the Gallery started ... If that IS the case I have a few ... to start the ball rollling ..

X1zt Hi...very happy to see you like my windowblind. On the right hand side the gagdgets that you are talking about, the clock and everything, is the sidebar in windows Vista. If you on Windows XP you cant load that sidebar, but, as mentioned above there are other sidebars that can be used

Before you apply a skin you'll need to install Windowblinds.
