Taken from the Apple website - click on external link above - iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again.
Not sure I can resist any longer

I've spent some time with my son's iPod Touch and a friend's first-version iPhone and there is a lot to like about them. Assuming the phone function itself is decent on the 3G (my Motorola Razr is pretty pathetic on that score - hard to believe the iPhone could be worse), I plan to buy one.

+1.
I'm so sick of the blagosphere creaming their pants over Apple's products. Like Mike said, gimme a Nokia N95 any day.
But heck - I don't want all those features in a phone. I can't imagine needing to browse the internet when I'm out and about - I want to be out and about. I've got an mp3 player that has much higher sound quality than anything Apple can put out, so I wouldn't want the iPhone's crappy music player.
Plus, I just like to be contrary and avoid the hyped-up fad that is the iPhone.

Same here unfortunately I'm stuck with a minimum of 2 cell phones at all times thanks to my job along with my home phone and office phone both when I'm in my apartment.
