Desktopx Theme wallpaper Not working

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 by totalylost | Discussion: DesktopX

I have DesktopX 3.2 and have downloaded several themes from here and a few of them the wallpaper loads to the desktop but once the theme and desktopx has finished loading the theme you can not see the wallpaper unless you unload desktopx and view the main screen. Others it doesn't load the wallpaper at all.

How can I fix this where the wallpaper can be seen?

Can you post a link to a theme that fails and one that works so we can compare?

My desktop icons are hidden and the only wallpaper manager I have is Windowblinds 6. But unlike "Totallylost", none of my Desktop X wallpapers show up at all. All I can see is a white background. What's peculiar is, when I try to restart Windows, the Desktop X wallpapers shows up before Windows totally shut out. But when Windows is already started, the white background is still what I can see.

I am pretty sure that it will work if you will set the icons to appear.

Thanks guys! The wallpaper did show up after I unchecked the hidden icons setting. Now how do I move the Desktop X icons? They are kind of off-centered and all over my desktop. And is there any way that I can hide my Windows icons without losing the wallpaper? My desktop looks like a smorgasboard of icons from both Windows and Desktop X.

once dtx loads with the wall, try right clicking desktop and unchecking show icons

i think if the wall is properly associated with the theme plays a factor - tronnix loads the wall even if icons are hidden prior to applying

To move items in DX,just hold down "Ctrl",l-click and hold your mouse button, then simply drag it to where you want it.Put everything where you want then save it,load the theme later and it's all right where you left them.
After you load a DX theme, you can select "show desktop icons" or not,and it will not change the WP.You only need them showing for some themes to load correctly.

Everytime I try that, the DX wallpaper switches back to the white background.

I guess you are right on this one. My old themes are working properly but the new ones are not.

I am baffled by this. You were dead on on how to move the icons. But as soos as I was done re-positioning the icons, 11 of the 13 icons don't respond to my mouse anymore. Double-clicking the icons didn't work. Right-clicking them shows the normal Windows right click on the desktop. It's as seems they are not there when I do a right click. The "set target" or "set parent" was supposed to show up upon right clicking them but it did not. And that happened after I set a target on each of them. I even re-started DX builder after I saved them as a new theme but the 11 icons remain unresponsive.

What theme are you using? I can dl it and go through it ,or I may have.As noted above^^^^ a ss would certainly help.If you drag the wrong thing off,it can disable the function.

I should mention that I have found the save function to be spotty,at best.
The best way after setting things up is to "save as",name it,then replace the original with it,or keep both in case you want to start over.

That's doing it the hard way,but after putting in 35-40+ shortcuts in and setting targets, fonts, etc, it sucks to have it not save. For some reason,it won't always overwrite the original.I hope that made sense.

Press the Prt Scr button on your KB,open paint, click on file and create a new file, click edit and paste the ss into into it.Save it and upload to a hosting site (I use Image shack) and get the link and paste it into your post here.WWW LinkYou have to register but it's free.

I am using D. Arnaez's Cryo64 Scenario Exodo YQ2_I. I did gave my saved DX a new name and also kept the original just in case.
