Thursday, April 24, 2008 by RomanDA | Discussion: DesktopX

Web site Beta Testers needed !! Thomas and Myself have been working on a new community web site devoted to DesktopX, the goal is to have a central location for things like: Tutorials Code Snippits Project News etc. The site is very much still in the BETA stage, but we want to try and get some feedback on what people think we should add, or change. Please use this thread to post comments, problems, suggestions. Thanks!

Also, for SirSmiley, I can't get this Folder Icon Changer to work at all, it's probably me. Will this work w/Vista,and if not could you please update it

Anyone know if Vista uses Desktop.ini files? If the answer is yes, then off the top of my head with out looking at the script this should work.

Will have a look at it when I get a chance or need a break from this birthday list widget.

Hi, I think the site is a great idea. I am new to desktopX and already addicted to widgets. As a beginner i have learned to change a clock face image of an existing widget, but i still haven't found a tutorial to make a clock from scratch. If you know of one, let me know. It would be great if your site could have tutorials for clocks, calendars and weather widgets for beginners like me.
Keep up the good work.
thanks.

The best tutorial is to look at existing objects.

Take a look at a few and ask questions about them.

Don't forget to read teh documentation too.

Good luck and have fun!
