ObjectDock 2.0 any time soon?
Seriously, when was the last update?
Friday, April 11, 2008 by Aeon-Slayer | Discussion: ObjectDock
that is the ability to drag files/folders/links, etc INTO a "Flyout Menu" !! that annoys me so much!! You have go into the fly out menu and then manually add the files, what a pain! Just model 2.0 off of the new OSX dock -- that thing works well.
In Example for the above, i want a flyout menu called "recent projects" or something like that, where i can drag in files and such of recent projects, but as is now i have to creat a whole TAB to do that!! i don't really like that at all.
The other (less major) problem is the lack of a link to "My Network Places"...? whats with that? i tried to import it using the shortcuts option, but it isn't possible.
Oh, and another MAJOR thing is the complete lack of DECENT docklets! who wants to know what the weather is!? give me a WORKING RSS reader anyday (i use Yahoo! widgets for my RSS only now!). i have searched the web but havn't found any good third party docklets, so if someone could steer me in the right direction? or are there seriously NO good docklets?
Anyway, could someone please get back to me with facts about the reality of 2.0 (or above) / opinions about my ideas? Thanks

Just to rekindle the question... When can we expect object dock 2.0? The last clue we were given was that it "won't be *too* much longer"... That was on January 12th. I think we are long overdue an update.

If you don't want to take your hag wife out, why would you pass it on to ObjectDock? You hate ObjectDock that much?

Or better question, why marry her in the first place if you feel that way? Sheesh.

Why would ugly mean she's a bad person to be married to?
In English, there is a difference between unattractive (or not attractive) and ugly.
His wife is unattractive (to him).
He is ugly.

I just received the email about OD+2. According to it, the beta is scheduled for this month and will be available for those buying https://store.stardock.com/cart.aspx?add&theme=impulse2&productid=ESD-SDS-W459 it or upgrading https://store.stardock.com/cart.aspx?add&theme=impulse2&productid=ESD-SDS-W460.

For those who haven't received the email, it doesn't say much. The info about the date has been carefully worded: "Get in the Beta today" doesn't mean that the beta is already available. I bought the upgrade but I haven't seen anything about the beta testers.
Here's the whole thing:

(with Fences)

This looks like a new UI (much nicer) but not a real feature.

Something is a bit fishy here
One would have to pay to try the beta and report bugs (if any) to Stardock? You are having a giraffe, surely...especially after people waiting nearly 3 years for it ![]()

Sorry to rain on your ever-on-going-boo-hoo tirades about Object Dock but if you actually READ THE DAMN THING you would see that for the $10 you will get the upgrade AND... (wait for it)... participate in the beta as well. Seems you always troll, looking for any opportunity to cause a tirade whenever someone mentions OD. Get over it!

I do have to say that I find it kind crazy that we must pay first to see the beta what if we decide it is not worth the upgrade price or the full price for those who do not already own OD. I have been waiting you a couple of years for this new version but, I have to say I will probably wait for the free version to become available first. I just feel there is something extremely wrong to ask long time users to buy the upgrade when it is just a beta version. Sorry Stardock you really blew it on this one.

I'm at a loss for words. Nobody 'MUST' do anything, you either want to or don't. From what's been posted it's an improvement to a program I already like and for $10 bucks, it can't be beat! For all the
baby's, > . < that is the worlds smallest violin playing just for you

Exactly.

Tried to purchase the upgrade using PayPal but a little pop-up window from the Stardock store tells me
"Sorry, you cannot checkout using PayPal when your order contains a preorder product."
So I put my purchase intentions well and truly on hold since they seem so unwilling to complete the transaction using a method Stardock offers.

That's not fair for those who have issues with 1.9 release and latest beta build. Stardock usually charges for upgrades (i.e 1.x to 2.x), so people who have been waiting for over 2 years will be forced to fork out extra to get those fixes. I'd be annoyed to say the least if that happens.
Agreed.
It's not just that's it is not fair !!!!
It would just be like a hold up. Fairly simple to do .... They let Objectdock without development and updates to correct bugs for two years (not more ?) and then, they come like a charm "there will be soon a new build of ObjectDock, it will cost you X $ ..."
Just a shame
