Like Windows 7 is "Just an update" for Windows 1.1.

1. It'll be here when it gets here. How many times does that have to be said/written?

2. Asking "When is OD 2.0 going to be published?" again and again is a waste of time. It won't make it arrive one second sooner.

That may be good enough for you, but it's not good enough for a lot of people. The latest build of OD+ is buggy, not to mention being over 2 years old. Just look at the bugs thread in this forum. The more people ask "When is OD x.x going to be published?" the more notice Stardock should take, because it has been long enough since the last version. A new version is long overdue, those bugs and incompatibilities won't fix themselves.

You can either spend your life enjoying what you have or worrying about what you don't.  Seriously.  It's a cool little piece of software, but that's all it is, and it does what it does and doesn't do what it doesn't do, just like everything else.  There's just no point in staring at the warts.

What an ignorant attitude to have. I cannot enjoy OD+ the way that I used to. Also, it's more than just a piece of software, it happens to have the largest market share of dock software. Perhaps this has made Stardock complacent in their approach to its development and improvement. Currently, I'm not worried about what OD+ doesn't do, I'm more worried about what it does do but doesn't do it properly. Unless you're a person who has been, for months, frustrated with having to put up with its bugs I wouldn't expect you to understand my position.

I agree with Dave, why worry about something which you can't control. It has some small bugs but they are easy to work around, if they frustrate you so much, move on or wait for 2.0 (someday soon I hope).

An easy fix for Object Dock Docklets would be to break up Object Dock into 3 separate pages on WinCustomize:

1) Docks

2) Docklets

3) Dock Icons

Right now it is painful to browse Object Dock on WinCustomize, simply because of all of the uploaded icons. It took me a few months to discover Docklets, simply because of the sheer volume of pages you have to browse through to find one. If Docklets had their own page, I would expect Docklets demand to increase, and the fantastic skinners would race to produce them. Furthermore, an increase in Docklets would undoubtedly result in greater insight into the most beneficial Object Dock updates.

You know, you can filter the gallery...Right after where it says ObjectDock there's All Categories.  Click on the dropdown arrow right before that and you get the filter list.  Select Dock Icons, you get only icons.  Select Dock Backgrounds, you get only backgrounds.  Select Docklets, you get...only docklets.

My attitude is not ignorant, it would just appear to be the polar opposite of yours.  Good luck with your approach.

Yes and No. Yes, it has changed, because the 1.9 build has bugs in it and the beta build has bugs. No because it hasn't changed to be better by being bug-free. My circumstances also changed. When I bought OD+, I was using Windows XP and there were bugs, then I moved onto Windows Vista and there were bugs, now I'm on Windows 7 and...guess what?...there are still bugs present. One cannot enjoy a piece of software that has bugs in it. Clearly, Stardock do not wish for us to enjoy it if they do not care enough to update it for over 2 years.

I don't think it's a matter of worrying about something I cannot control. In fact, that's part of the problem: cries of many a user about OD's problems seem to fall on deaf ears and there's little else we can do apart from biting the bullet. Small bugs that are easy to work around? Is than an excuse for software to have bugs? Have you seen the Bugs thread?

Moving on is difficult, because it has a lot of features that do work well. Besides, I paid for OD+, moving on would be a waste of money. Waiting for OD+ 2.0 is also challenging, because it has been such a long time since OD got any updates. All we got were a few screenshots of a new build and nothing else. Feels like an insult to the community, many of whom help out as much as they could: submitting bug reports, suggesting features, helping newcomers on the forums etc. What do we get in return? A pittance at best. I happen to be passionate about OD, because it was one of the first pieces of software (excl games) that I bought, so that's why I say the things I say.

IMHO the worst problem at SD ist free ressources because of those bloody games. Desktop-Application users have suffered and still suffer a lot from this situation excepting the most succesful programs like WindowBlinds. That gets a 'bit' frustrating at times. We've heard that excuse too often now... On the other hand there has been free time to develop Fences, which in my eyes still is (and will ever be) inferior to Object Dock (+). See also DesktopX, RightClick and more. And I fear this will even get worse with people moving on to Windows 7 and even more 64bit if nothing changes. I've been an Object Desktop user for nearly 10 years now and the update circles get longer and longer.

By doing a major build the little things are kept to the sidelines. I am sure the bugs will be addressed with 2.0.

That's not fair for those who have issues with 1.9 release and latest beta build. Stardock usually charges for upgrades (i.e 1.x to 2.x), so people who have been waiting for over 2 years will be forced to fork out extra to get those fixes. I'd be annoyed to say the least if that happens.
