Seeking a Skin with Truly Transparent Windowframes

Waterglass Transparency

Friday, February 15, 2008 by MistressDaiyu | Discussion: Skinning

Hi, I hope someone cal help me find a skin I'd like to have...

Here's a shot showing the skin AeroGlass V5's taskbar with about 20% transparency setting in WB Config:

Without having to create it myself, I'd really like to have a skin that's otherwise like AeroGlass but which provides windowframes with this kind of transparency, which I guess for lack of a better term at the moment, I'd call "waterglass" transparency instead of what generally is called glass (most schemes have "high lime content" seems to me).

Does anyone know of a skin with transparent windowframes such as I've tried to describe?

tia,

BTW,

I think I said that backwards, I have the slider set two notches to the right of the leftmost edge, so I guess I've got 20% opacity, not 20% transparency, set on the taskbar.

You can use WB6/Transparency & Blur Tab to make the window frames, taskbar, menus, and start menu of any skin completely transparent if you want to.

Yeah, skins with truly transparent windowframes are a pain to use ... hard to tell which window you are looking at when there is no blur and/or little or no opaqueness

Dang! I missed that. Wow, that works pretty good.

Well, I could dump a whole bunch of adjectives into this message. I hope it's enough to say, this is why I've been on Object Desktop subscriber since before WB 1.0 was released. This is truly fine software supported by an awesome user community.

I haven't yet read all the other responses. But thanks to everyone!

OK, that's interesting looking. But a tad too OS-Xish for me.

On the rare occasion that I want a Mac look, I dive back to the banned Copland schemes.

Thanks tho!

30% opacity is working for me fairly well, now that I grokked I could set the frame's transparency, thanks to fontinalis.
