your thoughts?

I released my 98th WindowBlind skin recently, and I have a couple more before I reach that 100th skin, but I'm thinking that maybe the 100th skin will be a master skin. If I am going to make a master skin that you guys might like to purchase, I know it will have to be special, and I know it will have to be totally complete. That's not a problem, I am prepared to put the hours in to make a complete skin, BUT, I would like some input from the community as to how this skin should look.
If you have ever looked through my gallery you will know that I like to create some wild and weird stuff, and I like to do animated skins too if the idea excites me. I can do abstract type skins, "machine" looking skins, or minimal skins. Color is a very important factor for me too.
So, any and all input and suggestions from you guys will be received gratefully, and hopefully I can make a skin to be proud of and that you will like to buy.

pic - that's a nice skin you have, but I wasn't thinking actual faberge egg, more the concept of metal over a darker material. Maybe a metal frame with lots of detail etc.
BoXXi - you are one of the very few who could pull off the kind of detail I'm thinking of. I'd do something along those lines myself but I don't have the skill.

Huang Choi: You say some very nice things, thank you sir! But $99 ???? I don't think anyone would buy my skin at that price, except my Mom!! hehehe.
It would be nice to try and make another skin like Dying Embers, lots of people seem to like that. 101 is quite a cool name actually.....thank you.

Well I don't know for you but you are the one that did more skins than anyone else into that category than any one else that I have seen here but the thing is why 99 first because of the irony!
I think you deserve 1$ for each skin you have made these past years and have been here from the beginning in China seeing yours work was incredible!
Then I guess if most of the people can afford to spend money into other skins they could afford here also!
Or then you could put it at 69 or 96 or even the price of the age 50 for years and years of great skins you have been doing!
Nah wait put 50 pounds and then convert it to dollars I don't know how muchit could be but that could be sweet!
Anyway think what I said and thanks for your comment I'm glad you liked the 101 tip!

Slagny: Yeah, I had a major build up of things that needed finishing, and I found some time to work on stuff (for a change). I'm hoping my 100th WILL be special, I'm working on some initial designs right now and hoping something excites me. I have four early candidates and I really like them all.
I may post some screenshots later when they start to take shape.

I'd love to see a "Ketix" or "Granular" type skin....but then, Metal on darker metal sounds nice too. I'm sure that each number skin was special, so #100 will be too. Can't wait to see it!

I lurve your colorful skins. I hope #100 won't be blue, black or gray. Earth tones would be great cuz most of the ones I've seen are unreadable.

I haven't read the whole thread, but thought I'd chip in that I had an idea for a skin a few years ago which I've never had the time to go back to now that WB supports the alpha blending on most bits which the skin would require to work at all:
"Is this worth starting a new skin?" (from 2004)
It fits with the idea of having a 'special rich' look to it (like a Faberge egg) as I see it as gold and rich felt/fur like the crown jewels - so could incorporate hints of diamonds and other jewels for the controls etc (rather than the tacky purple furry dice hanging in a pimped up car which I first thought).
Hope you have fun making whatever design you decide on as that's the main thing skinning should be in my book

How about...one for the Sara Connors Chronicles...you know...The Terminator series. All the chrome and fire in the eyes type stuff. You could use a face like one of the machines maybe. (Probably gonna need permission though) But...it's a thought.

Just kidding, but you are one of my favorite skinners here.
Suggestions:
Dark red (color changeable)
Silver
Black
All colors w/glass overtones
No background stripes (tacky)(especially stripes that show up in the background of my browser and explorer toolbars)
Lots of animations, including something at the top of the start menu, like the latest stardock holloween skin. (I don't see many skinners using that in their skins.)
Style ideas? Look at Tiggz latest Object dock icons names under K-Tek 4D.
I'm really diggin the suddle carbon fiber look
They also kinda have a modern/retro (1940's) style (hard to explain.)

Hi BoXXi... I'm looking at IR's Slider WB, and it's prompted the idea of a Cybermen theme from the Doctor Who series'... you know, something metallic with pipe-like fittings, etc. Of course, it would need to be accompanied by cursors, icons and OD backgrounds, logon and bootskin.
Dunno what you think, but it'd keep you busy/off the street and out of trouble for a while.
Actually, I quite like the Engine Room skins... reminds me of some good ol' days as a merchant seaman... was down in the engine room much of the time but it was a great life.

Just giving some advice as far as I'm concerned something like the dyying embers like would be sweet those colors match perfectly!
It is an honor to have the oppurtunity to use skins of yours into Windowblinds!
Why not to put it to sell for 99$ put a high price mostly ppl will buy mainly followers of your work for a long time!
For the name I reckon 101 fits perfectly keep up the work Master of the Masters
