2007 Wincustomize Senior of the Year Contest

Thursday, December 27, 2007 by Leo the Lion | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Yep, It’s that time of year again………..The 2007 Wincustomize Senior of the Year award………….

The naughty little schoolboy in me can’t be denied……I dared myself…….and I’ll tell you, it took a lot of soul searching and courage…….but in the end I thought "Hell, what the heck"………..I fully expect to be thrown in the Wincustomize Dungeons and left to rot but that’s life…………or death, in this case!!!

So before I announce my choice of candidates and a little introduction piece for them I would like you to know that there are three very luxurious prizes, up for grabs, for your chosen winner:-

A night out with Po’ and Skinhit at a restaurant of your choice. A crash helmet together with two dog muzzles will be supplied.

A weeks Computer Engineering Course with Kona. Normally you would be expected to to get this qualification over a year but Kona is offering a ‘crash’ course which can be completed in a week………….or ten minutes……whichever you prefer.

A full autographed copy of all of Alperium’s work. Yep, I purchased 1,492 CD RW discs to put these on, from PC World. You will be the envy of the whole of China with this fabulous prize.

So without further ado I’ll introduce my candidates – Please feel free to add some of your own during the thread…………..

Jafo……..Where would we be without this man? A stalwart in every department. A man of many words and many that I don’t understand. Do you know I read one of his answers in one of the forum threads, the other day, fifteen times…..Yep, 15 frickin’ times and I’m still none the wiser. I think he was saying ‘No you’re not doing that" but still not sure. Perhaps the intellectual bodies in Australia communicate this way? Or perhaps all the noise from those motor racing engines has caused this ‘speech impediment’. A guy whose credentials speak for themselves. I love this man.

Fuzzy………A British Bulldog if ever there was one. A nice guy who deals firmly with any transgressions and does not suffer fools gladly. Sometimes gives the impression that he got out of bed the wrong side but hey! it happens to the best of us. He obviously loves the Austrian hills. Did you know the Austrians are renowned makers of the ‘Cuckoo Clock’?…..or was that Switzerland?………… which in itself tells you a lot about this guy. A man who climbs mountains for this site.

Zubaz…………Our trusty American steed. He’s like a ray of sunshine and my dog. Always around when you need him. That’s when he’s not trying to give kisses and huggles to Brad, Zoomba and the rest of Stardock. This guy is the world’s best speller. Who says so? He did and I believe him. He says he is writing his own book on OS Customization. I pity the poor bastards who have to read it!!!! Send it to Jafo, first, for a spell check before you publish. Zu, as he is affectionately known by some of us is everywhere on this site and is always at hand to help with anything. Hey Zu, my bicycle has a puncture have you got two minutes to spare. This man is ‘the best’. Why? He told me so.

Boxxi………Another British ‘Master" who has more creative skill in his little finger than I have in the whole of my body. I have virtually all his skins, in fact I now have an ‘outfit’ made by him for every occasion. There’s not enough room on my computer so I have to hang them up in my closet with the rest of my clothes, much to my wife’s annoyance. A man with unrivalled artist ability who skills are like a good wine……..they mature with age and just keep getting better and better.

Quentin………He’s a relatively new ‘Wizop’ but his work speaks volumes for his character and skills. He’s French, you know. The Brits and French don’t usually get along but since watching the films Ratatouille and The Pink Panther, I’ve seen these French guys in a different light. Yep, they are wonderful human beings and totally misunderstood. Seriously, people, this guy Quentin is a nice guy. This man has proven his worth to the community at every level and was deservedly promoted to the highest level. A really really nice guy.

Wom, Erk and Koasati……….These guys are like submarines. They run silently and just below the waves but when they surface they always have something important to say and you would be wise to read and inwardly digest their every word. Never piss these guys off because remember all submarines carry torpedoes and you don’t want to be on the wrong end of one of those. No, seriously, three great guys who are truly magnificent specimens of seaman………..Did I spell that right? Oh! well. They are like the three Wincustomize Admirals of the Sea.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you without further ado our ‘Seniors’………Please give them a warm hand………No, guys that means a round of applause not a slap round the head………..

Please feel free to add any additional candidates or your own thoughts why one of these great people deserve the wonderful prizes on offer…………If you dare!!!!!.......there’s plenty of room in those Dungeons………..

Vote now!!!!!!

How does the saying go…………"Light blue ‘touch paper’ and retire to a safe distance"………

Starkers: You assume I have an ego to bruise. It is a false assumption - I have no emotions whatsoever.

Though I must confess to feeling a little disgust towards your fellow countrymen's obsession with having intimate relations with their livestock.

Suddenly genocide seems a perfectly logical choice.

So are you offering a service from me as a prize or do you consider me a WC senior?

A weeks Computer Engineering Course with Kona.

If the first prize was 'kick the crap out of Kona' I might show a little more enthusiasm for winning...

I refuse to think I'm that bad around here. I have my good days and bad days just just like the rest of you. Heck I was even gone a year and no one thinks I haven't changed?

Fuzzy you forgot to add your smiley's. But in case your not kidding I really don't think your reply is funny...

Hmmmmm!!! Seniors chosing their own Honorifics. I like that.....that sounds really good but Fuzzy, 'Science Officer'??????? Surely there is something more assertive and commanding that befits your esteemed position in the community. With your love of the Austrian Mountains I thought 'Herr' would be sufficient. Sounds really strong and respectfully. And here you are resplendant in your Austrian Laderhosen. Kitty's going to love you in those short pants

I thought it was a military rank still is use but I've just checked and it seems that you are right and it was only used in those 'dark days'. No offence meant. Anyway, I hope you get out to Austria again sometime in 2008. I spent many summers in the Tyrol and Salzkammergut and it truly is a wonderful scenic country with very gracious people. I have always had an affinity with the mountains and after spending a few years in the 'flatlands' of Florida, and a brief spell in Hawaii, I am settling down to life in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where we've got a heap of snow at the moment. Take care and as I said no offence meant.

Nope, I assume nothing... it's a well known fact that Pommies would give their eye teeth to win and keep the Ashes longer than 5 minutes.

Though I must confess to feeling a little disgust towards your fellow countrymen's obsession with having intimate relations with their livestock.

That'd be something I'd be most unhappy with if it were so... I'd hate to go to the added expense of basting my lamb with a bit of extra 'virgin' oil just to discover it was not virgin also.

I just wanna know who is actually paying for dinner? If it's skinhit, I'm not going. He always wants to go to Jack In The Box.
