I think DisturbedComputer is totally right in his initial point.
The truth of the matter is that I can get "stuff" at Walmart cheaper than I can at most other stores.
For a long time I refused to buy anything there because of the way they do business:

Our government goes along with this crap. They allowed it! They created it and it was when Bill Clinton was president! Bush has added to the misery. Truly a bi-partisan effort. This article is from 2005 but the info is true enough:

Our government sold us out many years ago. Bush has made it his aim to eliminate the middle class and he has just about succeeded. I support a family of 4. I make ok money but in the last 5 or 6 years due to COMPUTERIZATION, bad luck and what I view as a greedy company my pay has gone down by at least 5 bucks an hr. I was laid off from a job I had for 33 years and have never recovered from it. I wasn't alone. The guy who was responsible for who got the ax was laid off himself a few months after I was. The people who replaced us all made 2 or 3 bucks an hour less than us and hadn't been with the company nearly as long as us. When asked how the evaluations were made we were told that the above mentioned guy had evaluated us. I asked how this could be because he only talked to me once for 10 min! 33 years down the drain in 10 min. It was a shame and a sham and all legal! In all this I have used up my retirement funds to make ends meet. My wifes health is bad so she doesn't work. If I made just a little less I could get food stamps! Do you know that for a child of the 50's how that makes me feel? Every year prices go up but pay either goes down or health care increases make it so any raise is immediately erased. Guess what I'm doing now? In the past 5 days I've applied for 10 part time jobs! One of the places was Walmart!
I'm not looking for sympathy. Through all this I still have a house, a car, a good credit rating. The boss I have now is great! I know she would do anything she could to help me. LOTS of people have it a lot worse than me.
The way I see it since Bush has been in power he has just made it better for the rich and made it so that the middle class are rapidly becoming poor. All this and Bush is against universal health care, I pay over 400 a month for my family, slants the tax system towards people who make 6 figures or more. The deficit is up to about 9 TRILLION! He's got the country so messed up he should be impeached!
I can't go on with this it gets me so upset. I'm 55 years old, I'll never be able to retire. My health better hold up or I'll end up in some county rest home laying in my own filth with bedsores.

sure would love to take over the reign and I would be a better prez and all I would need to use is half of my brain left or right ether side. and my first act will be raise minimum wage to $10.00 per hr. <--(this will help spark the Economy the more the poor make the Richer the Rich will be)
then stop all production of gas burning engines and Corn. Go with Hydrogen Fuel then pull all troops out.and tell Iraqi Iran etc. all the Terrorist you Look at the USA and I will turn your place to Glass. then cut Taxes by half. oh and STOP all rebuilding war is war. they can rebuild their own Country. Stop all foreign aid. until We the USA has No children going hungry or living on the Streets. then Make Wal*Mart Sell CD's with "Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics" then outlaw cigarettes.

DC, where is there a rule, or a law that says if Walmart sells R rated movies, then they have to sell explicit CD's?
Besides, "clean" versions of CD's are produced, and available at Walmart. "Clean" versions of movies don't exist. I'm sure if clean versions of rated R movies existed, Walmart would choose them.
But the bottom line is, why do you care? Why was this insignificant little fact even something to start a topic about.

and to add to this wal-mart was like the 3 or 4 high profit company for like 2 to 3 years in a roll and start their employees at rock bottom Wage where as GM was right below them and they start out at $16.50 per hr..

you get paid for what you do. Any shmuck (apologies to any retail workers here) can work at Walmart. The work you do there doesn't warrant anymore than what you get. Working at GM is hard work, hard hours, and takes a learned skill. You get paid respectively. Are you seriously telling me Walmart should pay a 16 year old girl folding jeans the same that GM pays for assembling vehicles? That's absurd. That's not America. If you want a higher paying job than what Walmart offers, then learn a skill or a trade and get one. It's not really as hard as the handout seekers of this country will have you think to get a decent job. Yes, some people get screwed... (see post 22). It happens, it's part of life. Nothing is perfect. But don't expect to stock dog food at Walmart and drive a Lexus. It ain't gonna happen.

then you should make livable wage. no mater HOW low you want to classified someone for not have a GOOD paying job..
I don't care if someone works at wal-mart or the gas station or a low paying Factory job. they still should be making a wage that is livable on. I see you want to CAP the POOR but have NO cap on the rich?
If everyone that Make less then $30,000.00 per yr. went on strike
this Country would FALL and it would take less then a week..
