The skin looks fine. Are you or have you installed any other software that may have messed up things on your system?

the task pane shows up in your windows? I just now tried to redownload, and put up the skin again but it failed to give me a task pane.

Doesn't look fine here... I deleted the shellstyle.xps and re-imported a background for the shell.. Now the shellstyle shows up.. I would delete the .xps and rebuild it, shouldn't take long.

I loaded the skin up here and do see a few problems with it. One such being that the task panel, in fact, does not load.

You may want to inform the skin author in their page in the gallery.

I only originally looked at the skin in SKS. After applying I dont have the task panes either. XPS file is corrupt.

I'd choose another skin Strife.. there are thousand's in the WB gallery with FAR less errors.

how do you get the right .xps file? I am really attached to this skin, and i just wanna know how to get the task pane to show up, if i have to learn to do something, then i'll learn, but i wanna keep this skin. so do you have to program write the .xps file yourself or do you have to find it somewhere, the other errors on the skin don't bother me at all, i just need the dang task pane.

open all the shell images from SKS into a grapic editor.. and save them.. the go to the WB folder.. and delete shellstyle.xps Then simply open the skin again in SKS and reimport all the images you previously saved and SKS will write a new .xps for you.

thanks for the help, i wouldn't have been able to do anything without your advice, i'll try and make a new theme out of this one so that this one works completely, and by the way SKS means the skin studio right? what kind of graphic editor do you suggest? is there a good free one or just use paintshop?

Yes Skinstudio, as far as Gfx.. all I have ever used is Photoshop.

for fixing the task pane do you take out all the shellstyle.xps files, there are multiple ones in the folder, cause well i just tried to fix it but it didn't work, so i'm gonna try again, its annoying me to no end!! lol

theres only 1 shellstyle.xps... delete it from the WB's folder... and start re-importing the images.. SKS will automatically create a new .xps file.

ya should i not worry about the shellstyle~.xps? sides that i reimported all the xp shell things or should i just reimport the entire skin piece by piece? and then afterward i should i just apply the skin again to check the task panel? I'm sorry that i'm so bad at this, i just wanna learn how to do this so i can start making my own, i'm gonna use this as a stepping stone.

Yes that's how to do it, delete that .xps too, its just a backup, start with a clean slate , import images one by one, set your text colors and mousovers and save, apply and check ur panel, start easy with the background panel.
