So you want the Vista Sound Scheme on Your XP Set-up...........

Saturday, September 8, 2007 by Leo the Lion | Discussion: Community

I guess many people are customizing their XP setups to look like Vista and one thing you might not have thought of........is the sound scheme. It's pretty easy to do - Just go into the control panel - Sounds and audio - Sounds Tab - and go through the list and highlight each sound individually and change the sound from the media folder that pops up. Obviously you need to put the sounds in there first and if you want the Vista sounds go here and download it.........

The quality of the .wav sounds are excellent........

Monty, I downloaded the file and there were about 20 sounds. All quite different to XP. The startup and shutdown are very 'melow'   It's all about taste but I much pefer the Vista sounds now that I have them

I have start up and shutdown disabled. For the rest, I currently have a Buffy theme. I know, it's sad, but there are gems, like when a program fails to respond I get "I might be dead, but I'm still pretty..."

Maybe I'll turn on my S.T. sounds again..... It was kinda fun hearing Bones say "He's dead Jim" with program fail

Hi 2of3!

Would you mind sharing this Star Trek sound theme (if legal)? I'd really love having it running at my box... You know, I'm an old fan of this great series!

It was never a sound theme actually! I did this the old fashioned way: Downloaded Star Trek WAVs and applied them to different events...... long time ago this was

So far, I haven't seen anything about Vista worth paying for...including rapidshare "free" (it isn't).

Terminator for me. Just enough to get the flavor without being too much of a pain. Empty recycle bin - "You are terminated" Log on/Start Windows - "My CPU is a neural-net processor... a learning computer." There's a few others also. New email - "Give me your address there" Get it?

I'd rathere use my beatles scheme. Though if there were a pink floyd , or eagles theme, I would have trouble deciding which one I wanted to use.
