WindowBlinds 6 Beta Feedback
Wednesday, August 1, 2007 by Neil Banfield | Discussion: Stardock Support General
Please post all feedback about the WindowBlinds 6 beta on this thread.
Note that the beta is for 32 bit XP and Vista systems only. Please do not post about it not working on 64 bit XP/Vista. Please continue to use WB 5.51 on those platforms.
This beta is for Object Desktop customers ONLY. Standalone WindowBlinds 5 owners will not be able to activate this build.
Please note that you must have Stardock Central 2.46 Build 154 or later to install the WindowBlinds 6 betas. If you try and use older versions, it'll eventually timeout and give you an error about an invalid URL.
If you have problems with it running at all, please uninstall WB6, reboot and then try reinstalling WB6 again.

Since the last update all I get in the way of shellstyles if the basic blue not matter whether I have the override setting checked or not. I even changed it to "always use the shellstyle defined in...." and it won't take. It's happening on both my home system and my work system.

Edit:
After some testing.....if I load the Diamond skin it stills show basic blue, but once I reboot I get the Diamond Skin shellstyles. If I change skins I STILL get the Diamond Skin shellstyles so now I'll try a reboot to see if they change to the Mirage Shellstyles........
I was beginning to think I was loosing my mind...........

I just caught it changing. If I open say "My Documents" first after a recent boot then the shellstyles are there. As soon as I change to "My Pictures" the shellstyles become unskinned or change to the basic blue. Then every subsequent window I open with shellstyles has the unskinned look. Even backing up to the original "My Documents" window show the unskinned look.
Am I the only one seeing this? I see it on both my systems....

Lantec, could you please open the skin folder, backup the it (zip all)
and then look for to files with this names:
NS_Shellstyle1.UIFile
NS_Shellstyle2.UIFile
...delete 'em, reapply the skin and check if you still get the problem
(if you do, you can copy the files back).

Sayan of Darkness:
See the word I bolded & underlined for you in the quote above...
It is a BETA release ...one should expect bugs when using/testing a beta software product. If you find no bugs/issues, then all well & good ...If you DO find bugs/issues, then that is what this thread is for...
Some people are bound to have issues, software does NOT behave identically on every machine it is installed on.

Didn't work.....
I was using Ares, removed the files mentioned from Acrylic and then applied the Skin, checked and there was no change, still basic blue. I rebooted just to be sure but My Documents came up without skinned shellstyles on the first try.

And 3rd - I did install skinstudio 6 after wb6, no when using option in wb6 -edit skin- wb6 takes me to stardock webpage insteadof skinstudio 6

Add skin and delete skin are on the main dialog (Install skin from disk and Delete this skin - they are on the preview)
The edit in skinstudio option will not launch SKS6 as right now it does not set the associations for .UIS files. The final version will do.
