IE 7 Final To Be Released Today
Introducing the new, innovative feature of tabbed browsing!
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 by Zoomba | Discussion: WinCustomize News
For those of you interested, our friends at Neowin tipped us off to the fact that Microsoft is putting up the final version of IE 7 for download today. As of this moment, it's not posted yet, but it should be available for download from the Microsoft site before the end of the day.
It will be bundled in the update pack for the November Patch Tuesday for those of you who just want to wait for the automatic download.

Use Winrar or 7zip to extract the .exe.
Delete the yahoo toolbar install and the branding .cab and you have IE7 RTM.

| I don't know whether to be excited and looking forward to trying it, or apprehensive about totally zonking my system irrevocably |
I am aprehensive. I tried the next to last beta and had to reformat my computer. I do not want it again, beta or not. I use FireFox anyway. I hope I will have a choice in whether to get it in an update. That would be the pits if it cannot be avoided. Very scary.

Me, as a Opera browser user, i do like a bite this new style of IE.., i have to admit that it needs some fixes, like an easier way to customize the way a new tab can or should open. I already try Firefox., and well., in my very own filling, i put this three browsers like this:
1.- Opera
2.- IE 7
3.- Fire Fox
__
my two cents

The unistall must have worked for you, but it did not for me. That is when my computer got so messed up I had to reformat. It was like it only uninstalled half way. My browser was back to 6 but all the graphics were 7. I tried to reinstall and uninstall again. Then a reformat. I really hope I won't get it through a needed update for something else.

IE7 fan here, but then again - I also like Microsoft.
Thanks for the post, Mike.

..used all the beta releases till now, and whilst it started out a little buggy ~each subsequent release improved the experience.
I'll still use Firefox as my main browser, but for those sites that explicitly require I.E. ...It'll have it's uses. [Not a fan of FF's 'ie-tab' plugin]
And for the record, I think MS did well with this one.
Time will tell, though.

I'll be comparing speeds and display shortly.
One interesting note is I am using the Halloween WB and in FF (using default skin) the text on the status bar isn't visible (its black against nearly black), however with IE it shows up orange. So seems like WB doesn't play nice with FF, though usually I hadn't had an issue with skins with it.

It keeps crashing my system and slowing it down. I have uninstalled it forever.
Avant browser is the best out there.

Avant is IE
You must have some other system issue for IE7 to cause that many issues.
