I have a proposition...

I have a great idea for a program (fully skinnable), yet have no idea where to begin! I don't know how to write a program or script or any of that. i will however do the graphics. Anyone who can write programs/script and is interested in going in on this with me and has some time to spare, please leave your email and i will send you some info on what i am talking about (i just dont want to post it publically) thanks!

I think some more details on what's it about would help.

You probably need to be a little more specific still.  It's possible to tell more about what you have in mind without giving away all the details.  Plus, we can also say if it's been done before.

ok...lets see. basically it would be an animated logon screen where the screen would split (much like doors on a spaceship or something) and disappear, also that you could set to lockdown as soon as your done working or if you leave your desk for a moment..any help from anyone would be great! thanks

Cool idea. Never heard of it being done before. Seems like it would be possible.
Good luck, skinhit

I wish I could, but I'm no programmer. Most of the independent devs that I used to have some contact with are busy doing other things atm. I am more of an "Idea Guy" like yourself apparently. I tend more to come up with ideas to improve existing softwares usually.

Have you looked at Po' Smedley's Metro DX theme? Take a look at it (especially the lockdown screen. What you describe is something like that . . just with some animation at the front (doors opening and closing) (and a password?)

On my Metro DX Theme, I kinda hid the toggle to unlock the screen. What I wanted to do and would like to do for this is exactly what you suggested, a password log on to get back in. I couldn't find any info on making any kind of password log on for DX.

maybe Nighttrain could be of some assistance? I'm going to send you an email with a rough draft of some graphic ideas.

okay.

I have looked around, there are loads of password scripts, the problem is applying them to a desktop app instead of a webpage or PC log on.
