Wanted......Apple OS

Monday, June 12, 2006 by Jafo | Discussion: Macintosh

I have one of these....but need an 'easy' way to get hold of some OS disks for it....just the OS disks themselves, not all those null-modem data transfer/whatever solutions that need a soldering iron....just the disks....

Will pay handsomely....[afterall the whole computer was only AUD $5....with extra drive, printer and mouse].

I just want to be able to say:- "Yes, of course I have an Apple....what do you take me for....backward - primitive?"...

I so want to take out my old Mac from the closet now!

Ah HA! A closet Mac user !

I can't really talk, I just bought an iMac (for the wife, though, honest!)

How much did one of these cost retail when it was new???

On a sadder note . . . I can't find the system disks, I shall keep looking though.

This site might be useful though:

Here's me thinking the AUD $5 was a bit steep...

My guess is you were about nine when they came out.......at that age everything 'just' works....

Ah, the good ol' days.

9.....

1963.....

They didn't have Macs then....probably didn't have Jobs, either...

I just finished a (very slow) game of subLogic's Flight Simulator II (Link) on the ][c.

I wonder how much those stickers are worth on ebay? They *ARE* still in the original, sealed, poly-bag. Might be worth more than the ][c.

Link : yep

you might wanna try sun remarketing (sunrem.com). unfortunately, their website isn't very friendly and i can't get the system software page to load. you could try calling to get a catalog tho. 1-435-578-0318 or 1-800-821-3221, or fax: 1-206-202-3055

I have sent off a call for the "Apple at Play" and "Apple at Work" disks But almost all of the disks I have laying around have Pro-DOS (I think) on them and just ran when inserted (and rebooted).

Anything I can get a copy of/my hands on will be more than I have now.....all I have is the hardware....and the desire to have it sitting in a corner somewhere as a conversation piece....

"Ooh...I see you have a Mac".

"Yes, but if I had another I'd have matching bookends"....

Jafo, power on the IIc. Then hold down the Control while tapping on the Reset.

Type:
10 Print "Hello World!
20 GOTO 10

Run

Have fun!

If you have a disk, you can even save it for later.
