If a menu is per pixel in the skin then it will not fade in.
Perhaps you are now using a different skin which has per pixel menus?

I'm just trying some skins with non-per pixel menus now and it still won't allow fade-in. I think really inconvient that this type of software should disable options that are already on Windows.

EDIT: On closer inspection, it appears that WB has infact disabled the fade-in effect. When i go to desktop apperance properties, there's a "-" sign in the checkbox next to "menu effects". I think that's really stupid. Shame on you Stardock.

Menu backgrounds can have animations defined in a skin (obviously, skin-specific), but there is no general menu animation control which applies to all skins in WB Config. Now that you raise the question, I'm not sure how WB & WFX handle a conflict if an animation is used in a skin while WFX menu animations are enabled - so few skins use that WB feature that I've never run into that.
