Object Dock background request

Monday, April 17, 2006 by J. Aroche | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Okay, I've seen, and enjoyed PHOENIXHEART's rare icon request post so we can all enjoy amazing icons from experts like PHOENIXHEART, Po'Smedley, Bandit4edu, etc... but I've seen many who request object dock backgrounds, and I would like that everyone can have a cool one to match their desktops.
I'm not that good at making them, but I know how to make them, but maybe cool designers like WebGizmos, Gooberbean28, and many other great skinners can help us out here, so if you would like one just tell us!

Hey Sir B. Help me find some palm tree brushes or picture tubes for Paint Shop Pro X and I will be able to make you one. I will try making brush or pic tube from palm tree I will render in Bryce. I will easily be able to render the sand for background in Bryce. It may not be until the weekend that I will have time. I will give it a go for you.
It won't be cheap though

The one problem you will find when using certain graphics is that they look great until someone takes the dock background and stretches it out...then it becomes distorted. The Thredz dock I did is a good example...that one took awhile before I got certain parts of it to behave no matter what anyone did to it. If you don't get it just right it not only distorts it also breaks up and looks like a bad patch job.

The strecth of sand wouldn't be a problem and for the most part the trees would look ok until you stretched it out. But I'll see what I can do as well Bichur.

But as far as requests...I've always been game...but no ones ever asked

Hey Sir b. Something like this http://cavan1.wincustomize.com/photos.aspx?a=1&p=10&view=full
If you like it let me know the size you normally have your dock set at, I can then make the image for that size so there is no stretching of the palm trees.

PS 'brushes' for palm trees?

Why stop there?  Why not get NUMBER BRUSHES so you can number bits of your pictures so an UNTRAINED monkey can paint the right colour inside the lines....

What happened to plain and simple DRAWING?....

It's hard to get the palms to pose in the proper grouping (frond envy)....

Looks great Cavan1!
everytime i tried the trees keep stretching out wide.

What happened to plain and simple DRAWING?.

Some of us don't have a lot of ability in that area Jafo.
For a lot of us, this type is really no different than modifying a vehicle.
How may custom cars or bikes or whatnot start out with going out to a field and digging up some ore?
