Matte paiting is what is used in movies to create backgrounds, etc. They combine photographic elements with painted elements to creat worlds that do not really exist. The foreground ocean was a day time photo that I converted for this scene. The rest, from the immediate shoreline back, is painted by hand. Thanks for commenting!
