Goodness Ken, I was lamenting fall and you give me winter! This is a great depiction. I do love snow but I am not ready to let go of summer yet!

It was the Red Army's poor performance in this conflict that convinced Hitler the Soviet Union was ripe for invasion. I believe he said something to the effect, "One has to merely kick down the door for the whole rotting edifice to collapse," (meaning Russia).
