Why not fix problem 2 by using InStr?
If InStr(Control.Text, " ") > 0 Then
WshShell.Run Chr(34) & Control.Text & Chr(34)
WshShell.Run Control.Text
End If

because you need spaces for switches, and if you surround an executable and its switches by quotes windows shell doesnt recognize it. For Example type "ping" in the run prompt and you get an error but type ping and it works

Thats just the way it is
