This is really a great looking theme.

I think some of the resolution issue could be solved with some changes as to how it uses the wallpapers, it might work better to make "objects" with the images and then center them, or split them into their respective pieces, and then you could have each section be able to be moved, etc. Just an idea, this looks incredibly complicated, and works very good.

Great work!

Very impressive!I too am a little dissappointed that resolution problems are an issue. I understand it may be too much work to make this theme for every res possible. Me having 1440x900 and lower widescreen resolutions can be a royal pain at times when trying these themes. Anyways, love your efforts, keep it up.

All I can say is that from the screen shots this looks awesome and while only available in one resolution at least you've been upfront about it I do get fed up with a lot of these themes only really being suitable for 800 x 600 and just not saying.

I use 1280 x 1204 and while say 1600 x tend to shrink down ok 800 x 600 is just to grainy to survive being enlarged.

Incredible. I once denied being a trekkie but must now humbly admit that once one alters ones computer to looks like a console one has at that point arrived. All that is left is to don a uniform and begin attending conventions. In any case, excellent Desktop Theme. By far the best of the LCARS themes out there. I think the only problem is the lack of diversity in screen resolution but still, excellent.

to configure the shortcuts like Docs etc.. you should be able to right clik on the button and a menu will appear.. in the menu it will hae a select target option. clik on it to open the change target windw and select the file/folder you wish the shortcut to open...

if it dont show a change target option in the dropdown menu then go to the DX systray icon and right clik and start DX builder.. from there try the above steps.. it should work there..

Thank you for continuing my work on this ambitious and unique theme, you've done a great job keeping it going, I know how confusing the back-end can be a times, I'm amazed that people have been able to follow my work.

I really wanted to create something different from the predictable themes that you see every day, and to create a truly futuristic desktop environment. I had a lot of plans for this theme, but time was always against me. Supporting different resolutions is really hard, I had a resolution independent prototype interface, but it was really difficult to get it to work, without the use of scripts, which is not my thing. I guess I just wanted to create something that made people go wow, without any flashy scripts, just relying on a complex layers of mouse overs and graphic layers.

Well if you carry it best of luck

Yeah people seem to like the LCARS style, I remember being blown away with the first one I downloaded, it was so different from XP and all the other themes that were around at the time. I started work on my theme because I wanted the true LCARS experience and I wanted things to have a real purpose, instead of being there for show, which was the whole idea behind my original design (and all the layers). I wish I could have kept it going but it's a lot of work, and people seem to want it in every resolution going lol. I did start a resolution independent version, but it was going to be a lot of work, and I think it would have been impossible without some sort of advanced script, which is way beyond my skill set Ultimately work commitments got in the way, and I had to take my work down, as it was too much of a distraction for me, you kind of get hooked on projects like this! As I said, I'm really surprised to see this LCARS theme still here after all this time, you've done a great job keeping it going, so i'm really grateful for that. It's interesting that there is another theme based on my work too, with an all blue colour scheme, which is really cool. Personally I like the original LCARS colours better, feels more like the TV show, but variety is cool and it's good to see both themes on the net. Keep up the good work! Cheers Adam

Is thee any way, developer, that you could modify this theme for 1920x1080? I'm using a 50" DLP TV as my monitor. This set up would kick ass on my tv if I could have it widescreen.

Man, my laptop is a natural 1360 x 768. As a result, it pretty much fails to ever have any wallpaper fit properly without stretching it to distortation, cutting out parts, or having big black boarders in centered version.

It seems to have even worse effects on your LCARS desktop. Most of the items are either overlapping, or else it appears too low on my screen and ends up cutting off half of the image.
