I was able to download the plus version and with your help, rebooted and it's working, partially, can't seem to get the effects to enabled. Also if you leave the cursor alone on the screen it flickers on and off, from a cursor skin to a plan old arrow. Help!

Everytime I boot my computer Cursor FX loads my cursor theme fine, but as other programs load the custom cursor disappears. Whaqt happens is that dfuring the boot process my windowblinds loads without any transparency at all, then during the loading of my auto loading programs it switches to transparent. When this hapopens the cursors revert to the standard Vista cursors. I then have to go to task Manager and close cursorfx.exe. Doing sdo then causes TaskMan to stop working.

After all of that I can run the Cursor FX Control Panel and everything loads and works correctly.

I'm running Vista business 32-bit, all hte latest patches and Nvidia 169.21 drivers.

Ditto to reply #1 with the same System specs.

I find that the hand curser starts out as the default Windows curser for a few seconds and then displays the correct curser for the theme that is loaded.
This happens for all curser theme sets.
It bothered me enough to uninstall and reload CurserXP.  (

For some reason, the cursor disappears while in windows media center (open, not minimized), which it did not do before with the default vista cursors.

Oddness . .but maybe not a bug, could just be me . .  when I control-alt-delete on XP I see the default Windows cursor.  On Vista I saw no cursor at all.  Will verify a reboot on both and test again.

I have figured out mine and slagny's problem instead of clicking once on the effect and hitting apply, if you double click on the effect it applies automaticaly. Either the apply button in broke or this is how you are supposed to apply the effects.

The effects don't work no matter what I do. No option for recolouring or brightness/contrast like in CursorXP, only hue and transparency and that puts a limit to the colouring option in my opinion. Scrolling themes don't work when you have many themes installed (as I have). Clicking the scrollbar AND the scrollbar arrows jumps couple of pages of themes and holding the scrollbar gripper trying to scroll themes is almost impossible. The cursor disappear/flicker without any obvious reason like an app starting. Trail elements - I don't see any. Mirror and resize work but the 25%, 50% etc in CursorXP work much better and are easier to use. The program itself crashes from time to time when applying a new theme - no particular theme.

System: Windows XP Home SP2 + all available patches, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3,2GHz, 2GB of RAM, latest nVidia drivers 6.14.11.6375.

I feel like I've paid for an early Alpha version here

On a multi-user setup, if another user is logged in, the Cursor no longer applies when I log in under my profile. As soon as I switch over and log the other user off, hop back into my account, it works like a champ.

Running Vista Business, theme Position and just the standard version of CFX.

The cursor just completely disappears when I play Team Fortress 2. Although I haven't tested it in other games, I'm sure the same applies to most games, especially on Steam.

Vista Ultimate x64, the aquarat cursor theme.

Laggy control panel buttons:

If I roll the mouse over the buttons multiple times, fast, the buttons keep flashing even if my cursor is not on them, to make up for the times i rolled over them too fast. Is this a bug?

In the editor, if you click on Normal States, then Pressed, then normal again quickly, the text disappears.

CFX Plus, Vista, Aqualix (but shows up with any cursor).

Trying to set to dynamic shadow causes the cursor to disappear entirely. I have to kill CFX and restart it to correct the issue (even when I use control panel to reset to the default windows cursor, CFX won't change the cursor unless it's killed and restarted).

Also, when setting the smoothness setting fairly high, the actual cursor hotspot can lead the cursor image by a noticeable degree, when the cursor is moved fairly fast. While it corrects, it's a bit of an annoyance.

Can't navigate the list windows using the keyboard.

Scroll wheel scrolling works well, scrollbar scrolling sucks (Clicking the scrollbar arrow or trough moves the window the same amount, very little).

When clicking the 'Apply' button, even if nothing has been changed, the cursor reverts to default ugly briefly, before showing the selected cursor theme.

Still messing with the program, I'm sure there will be more

Nice program, but right now, it's pretty flaky.

Well, I said there might be more

None of the slider controls can be moved with the keyboard, and you can't move the slider by clicking in the slider trough.

Even though they're pretty self-explanatory, the various option icons in the highlighted cursor list item (info, preview, edit, etc.) should display a tip (and the ones like web and email should actually display the address that will be acted upon).

Deleting a cursor theme from the CFX cursors window doesn't properly update the list (the cursor image goes away, but the list item is still present). Restarting the app corrects the list, but this shouldn't be necessary.

When you double click on a CursorXP theme, whether you choose to apply at that time or not, the theme does not show in the cursors list until the program is restarted. The list should be able to refresh when a new theme is added without requiring a restart.

After returning from hibernate state, the cursor falls back to Windows default. I have to apply the cursor theme again. Happens to any cursor theme.

When moving the mouse around very fast, CPU comsumption goes up. CursorFX takes up to 20% CPU speed then.

I'm using Vista Home Premium on an Intel Core 2 T7200 with a nVidia Geforce Go 7900 GS graphics card.
