After rebooting, I found I couldn't resize my cursor xp pointers. So I uninstalled Cursor fx only to find that now I can't find my cursor xp. So I reinstalled the Cursor XP and guess what? I can't resize in Cursor XP anymore!

I've also verified the vanishing cursor in dynamic shadow mode in XP as well.

Zubaz, I solved the problem: I uninstalled CFX and downloaded Cursor XP from the download site at Stardock. Thank G-d I saved all my "numbers" and re-registered CXP.

I have the same "uneasy" feeling that Yrgal has:

"I feel like I've paid for an early Alpha version here  (  "

only I didn't pay....I used the "free" version. Guess what?

That's not a solution

Some themes do not delete (at all... clicking on the X does nothing to them), and some themes turn into jumbles of random characters without previews, until restarted.

Further info on the dynamic shadows (both XP and Vista).

On original apply (once selecting dynamic mode), the cursor disappears. On a complete unload and restart after that, the dynamic shadows appear to be working, and subsequent applies (after changing some settings) seem to work fine. However, the light adjustment settings don't appear to do anything (regardless of setting, the shadow looks exactly the same).

The various settings sliders should be labeled such that you know what the slider position represents (light higher / lower and so on).

Also, in dynamic mode, the preview window still shows what the cursor and shadow look like in static mode.

I can also confirm a post above concerning the status of the cursor after returning from sleep mode in Vista. On restarting, the cursor has reverted to the default windows cursor, and a complete unload and restart of CFX is required to restore the themed cursor.

Bug report:

Cursor disappears when moving a file from one folder to another (click and drag). Tried several cursors including the default CursorFX cursor.

Vista Home Premium here. Had difficult time uninstalling CursorXP (probably shouldn't have installed
FX over it). I report the same problem with dynamic shadows (I just won't use that until it's fixed).
Hmm, just noticed I have reverted to a stock pointer in this comment box, wait it's Allante again..no, no it's not...sigh. I couldn't get CursorXP to work with RightClick (it works but it's always the busy animation) and FX is no different.
No other problems except I need trails (must have trails...drool).

One more ...

Cursor won't show when using a remote desktop session (CFX on the remote desktop). Only mention this since CXP did work over the remote session, even if it could be kind of slow at times.

Vista local machine, XP remote machine, CFX Plus, Aqualix.

This all should be fixed in Beta 2. We got it fixed internally.

By design CursorFX should disable and show Windows cursors over remote sessions. This is for performance reasons.
If you get totally blank cursors instead, that is a bug we can look into.

Yep, it's entirely blank.

When moving the mouse around very fast, CPU comsumption goes up. CursorFX takes up to 20% CPU speed then. This only happens occasionally at other times it doesn't seem to be affected. Can't figure that one out. Also when transfering my XP cursors to FX then rebooting, my reboot opened two cursors at the same time causing my computer to run REALLY SLOW with 100% CPU usage. I had to reboot at least 4 times to get enough responce to close FX. I did find that after getting all my XP cursors transfered to FX then disabled cursorXP then all seemed to work well. Having both enabled seems to be a bad idea.

CTRL-SHIFT-V to disable cursorfx, disables cursorfx, but then there is no cursor at all. also, ctrl-alt-del there is no cursor either. running vista ultimate.

for the record, this also happenend with cursorxp on vista, but since it was cursorXP i just waited until a vista version was avail.

also, it's only the standard cursor that disappears, other curors from the standard vista cursor set are there, like if i hover over a hyperlink, then i get that cursor, or the text cursor on a text document.

Cfx unregistered. XP version 2.0

CursorFX stops skinning the cursor when moving the mouse on the desktop if icons are hidden, at rest the cursor reskins.. when desktop icons are shown it skins fine all the time..

this only occurs on the desktop not in the windows or APP gui's.
