WC Charity & Sub Drive - Day 5

And some promotional material

Tuesday, November 6, 2007 by Zoomba | Discussion: WinCustomize News

Day 5 of the drive has come and gone.  We're making steady progress, but seeing a bit of a slow-down already.  This must be fixed!  Here are the numbers as of end of the day, November 5th:

  • Subscriptions: 219 (10.95% of goal)
  • Charity Dollars Raised: $715.35 (14.31% of goal)

At current daily averages, we will have 1,927 subscriptions and have raised $6,295.08 for Childs Play.  As you can see, we've already dipped below our subscription target if we don't maintain a higher pace.  We're also sliding on charity dollars raised, and I know everyone wants to see us hit that $5,000 goal!

Now, a lot of you have already done your part by buying subs and skins, and I can't thank you enough, but we still have 39 days to go, and a lot of ground to cover.  One question I've been asked by several people is how can they help promote the drive and spread the word.

Banners & Ads

If you run any sort of ad on your web page, or have space where you could put a few images without breaking the layout of your page, we have a few images you might be able to use.

When linking to the charity drive, you can add "?cpRef=YOURSITEHERE" to the end of the URL.  This will allow me to track who is linking to us from where, and how much traffic you're sending our way.  Sites that send us a lot of traffic will be thanked in these regular updates.

As an example, if I were to link this off my own site, the link would look like this: <a href="https://www.wincustomize.com/charity.aspx?cpRef=evilsysadmin.net">

Here are the images you can use:

728x90 Banner

335x162 Block

125x125 Badge

To everyone who supports the drive by helping spread the word on their site and beyond, thank you!

Fantastic idea.  If you have a WordPress blog you can easily put one as a widget in the sidebar as I did.

Let me know if any of them do subscribe/purchase.  I'd be interested in hearing how well that works out.

It's also easy to add to your Myspace page as well.

Well, I'm trying to post some html code to use for sites so you can post the images above as a link... seems to be coming out odd, but it is useable if you Highlight on the code in the 'code box'.

Thanks SK. Just remember to change the referral domain when posting.

Zubaz also had a great tip to use the banners as a signature in e-mails.
