Icon Image Locations in OD+

When I save OD+ icons, I place them in the folder \Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Images. Oftentimes there are subfolders, or I create a subfolder.
However, when I try to select an image for a Dock Entry, the \Images folder shows ALL images within it and its subfolders. And there does not appear to be any discernible order to the images.
They look to be somewhat alphabetical, but the alphabet keeps starting over in the selection window. Finding an image that I just placed in there is usually a weird experience! I'll scroll up and down, over and over, not finding the image I just placed there. So I open Windows Explorer and look again - it's there alright. Eventually I find the image, but it never appears to be in the spot where you would expect it to be, alphabetically. Arrrggghhh!
Why does OD+ open the image selection view in a dialog that appears to look like a regular WinXP "Open" dialog, but then jumble the files within it so crazily?

The 'all images' selection seems to scan from the ObjectDock folder and all below. It seems to pickup all images including those from the docklets folders etc.
The different ordering looks to me to be due to it listing the contents of each subfolder (alphabetically ordered) indivually. So you're seeing 'groups' of ordered lists according to what's in each subfolder.
Similarly if you click on the 'images' item in the OD dialog. Even though it has it's own subfolders, it shows all the images but in groups according to their organisation in the sub-folders.

Hit browse and it'll let you use explorer to find the images you want.

I agree with Chris TH - they show up in order, but by folder...I keep all of my images in a seperate folder, on a seperate drive, which works good for me except for the system tray, which seems to require them to be in the OD folder...a source of frustration for me for a long time now! oh well...if anyone knows a work around for THAT, let me know!

This looks like the best solution. How/why does the Images folder grab everything like that though? Why not just stick with the Windows Explorer format? For that mater, why not just use the Windows Open dialog? Seems like a classic case of over-development here.
Makes some sense - as to how it's working. Not very much sense, though, as to why someone ever thought that would be a good idea! (<----This is either my extreme conternation look, or my extreme constipation look!!)
Ugh... Nope. You can't get there from here! There is no "Browse" button to hit. At least not for changing the image. There's a "Browse" button to set or change the executable file that launches the program. But for the image, there are only two buttons: "Change Image", which puts you in this Explorer look-alike dialog with the weird Images folder behavior, and a "Reset" button. I don't see a way to browse for a new image with the Windows Explorer.

click "change image, THEN the browse option will be there, on the far left

Aha! I never noticed that button. Since I thought that I was opening an Explorer dialog in the first place, I never thought to look around for the button that would put me into the "real" Explorer dialog!
