Yrag or Someone Help plz

Tuesday, January 24, 2006 by Patriots | Discussion: Personal Computing

Hey Yrag, or Someone,

I'm having some issues with my computer. If anyone could help me I"d be most appreciative

1. Wincustomize browser keeps freezing up on me, I can't post a thread, or Add comments, it Freezes. I'm on Firefox now to post this

2. Stardock Central Freezes up on me as well. Same issues.

I have disabled my firewalls thinking this was the problem. Also, I have Kaspery Anti-virus, and I have allowed SDC and Stardock to be accpted under Exclusions.

3. In my even view it's saying Error C+ and Error vss

I really would like to just clean out the C:/ Drive and start fresh, but, I have that darn emachine for a puter (with many extras put in ) I can't boot into DOS to just format it that way.

Any help or suggestions??

I'm going to assume you've never had Norton installed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Open Run/ type 'regsvr32 ole32.dll' apply and then 'regsvr32 oleauto32.dll', apply. Re-boot. Check for errors.

No, I did have norton installed and got rid of it. When I found out it was nothing but headaches.

The 'oleauto32' is OK....not finding ole32 isn't. Do a search and see if it's on your drive. Also, open Administrative Tools/ Services; make sure both Com+ entries are set to auto or manual (if you change them, re-boot).

Ok, in my Services, I see COM+ event system it's set at auto and running
COM+ Systetem application is also set at auto but wasn't started. I right clicked it and started it. Closed the window, then, re-opened it and it was back off. So, I started it again.
