Inappropriate comments and their removal
The way to go about it.
Sunday, January 15, 2006 by Jafo | Discussion: Community
Frequently a skin will attract 'the idiot element' and receive comments one would 'rather not' have.
With the size of the site it's nigh-on impossible for an admin to catch all of them in a timely fashion...so the trick is to email an admin/moderator for 'aisle cleanup', or if all else fails a quick 'request' for same on the Forum or IRC.
Once 'dealt with' the forum thread can be removed as well....problem solved.
What is less than 'successful' is to engage in boisterous banter with the 'problem' person as that only attracts more unwanted comment.
Some are definitely less adept at snuffing out these issues and actually do more harm than good.
Like grafitti, it's best 'cleaned' promptly....![]()

Shoot, we all have bad hair days (had quite a few of my own recently), but still, simple common courtesy/manners politeness costs nothing....just as it costs nothing if you have nothing nice to say and, therefore, should say nothing.

Just asking cos I'm pent up with all sorts of negativity and have a nasty disposition right now, and want to know if I'm allowed to say stuff like that to get it off my chest. If not, then I'll go out in shed to shout, scream and swear until it's all out of my system.
Guess what I'm trying to say here is, there's ways to unload without being rude or offensive towards anyone.

Now why would starkers say that, you might ask?
Well let's put it down to a couple of recent experiences! I suffer with other afflictions and ailments, so no, they aren't mine.
A mate of mine, a normally placcid, easy going...hit him with a brick before he'd complain sort of a guy, recently began exhibiting a cantankerous, obstreperous and temperamental disposition, and naturally, given his usual pleasant demeanor, I enquired as to why he was behaving so far removed from his cheerful self.
I put my arm around him (in a blokey sort of a way) and asked: "What's up mate, you seem so far down in the dumps, is there anything I can do to help?"
"Sadly, no!" was his reply: "This new medication I'm on causes constipation, and as a result, now I've got piles and I feel bloody awful."
Sad, isn't it...that something you take to make you feel better actually makes you feel worse! And when you speak to someone suffering the very same thing a few hours later, it makes you wonder how common a thing this really is.
Anyhow, in considering this, given all the unkind and derogatory comments, I think perhaps a medical examination for these conditions should be implemented, if not made compuslory for forum/skin comment contributors who repeatedly leave nasty remarks.

I am going thru this as we speak, so to speak. I don't even wanna get started on what a @#*&%$@ nightmare it is. I feel for your friend.

This sounds good. Perhaps after they make a rude comment, an immediate colonoscopy and endoscopy down the other end, WITHOUT the benefit of anaesthetic would be in order. As someone who just went through both (with anaesthetic), I highly endorse this. Especially the no eating and the 2 bottles of 'drain' cleaner you have to drink the 24 hours before. Good idea, starkers!

I feel for you also....as in the past I suffered similar issues due to a medication which produced something along the lines of introducing clay to ones' diet for a week or so. Put it this way...I was so clogged up I started going deaf
......and the gas/wind.....they could've stood me up the end of one of those tunnels where they test the aerodynamics of aircraft in the production stage. Guarantee they'd have known if the wings were gonna stay on or not
Anyhow, Po'...keep well and enjoying life, and hopefully you've not just been reminded of your discomfort, but got a laugh out of this instead.
