Unable to apply toolbar icons in WB 5
can't figure it out!
Saturday, January 14, 2006 by cybermessiah | Discussion: WindowBlinds
They were working correctly until I did both a 'repair' install of XP Pro and a 'restore to previous date'...then this option just ceased to function correctly.....
Have tried, since then, to uninstall and reinstall WB5 a couple times and also tried changing the icon size in the customization area of the toolbar...but still, after trying to apply, it wont change the toolbar icons after reboot or log off... (still stuck with the default XP toolbar icons).
I have made sure that in the WB5 'toolbars' configuration option that 'Always use the icon set selected below' is checked...but still not working..... and in the 'Basic Settings' option of WB5, under 'Standard Parts', I do have the 'Toolbar buttons' option checked. The other aspects of WB are all working correctly.
Anyone can guess as to why this is happening and offer a solution?...it's really annoying

1. open any windows explorer window
2. rightclick on the toolbar
3. make sure that 'Lock the Toolbar' is unchecked
4. goto to windowsblinds, select the toolbar you want and apply changes
5. go back to the explorer windows and rightclick the toolbar and select 'Customize'
6. in the customize option, click 'Reset' and change the Icon options to Large Icons (if set to small icons) or Small Icons (if set to large icons)
7. Click 'Close' - and BINGO ! - your icons have changed - you can now go back to the Toolbar options and reset your icons to whatever size and configuration you want, and lock the toolbar again
if that doesn't work, just try playing with various options in 6. and hit 'Close'
phewww....i have no idea why it works this way, but i can now use whatever toolbar i wish
