Changing ISP's
think the one I got is broken.

It's not often that I have a need to contact my ISP, but when I do, I at least expect something that resembles a human at the other end of the line. Coupla weeks ago, I rang and Robbie Robot answered...his electronic, computerised voice telling me that tech support is busy, and if I leave my 10 digit phone no, somebody will get back to me...due to an unprecedented workload, the current wait time is 27 hours.
Orright, I thought, my mate's a whiz at these things...he'll fix it, and fix it he did. I was absolutely astounded, he went to their site and had me up and running in under 15 mins...there I was, glitchlessly surfing the net again, lookin' at all those piccies that give me so much pleasure.
What astounded me even more, being that I'd forgotten about the return call, is that tech support rang me 5 days later to see what assistance I needed. WOW
No, it wasn't Robbie Robot this time, but I still had difficulty understanding the lingo....sounded like a variation of a Sudocongamreristani dialect 
The logical thing to have done was to ask for a translator...but I was just rude and hung up. Tut,Tut!
Anyhow, to cut a short story long, they messed me around twice more like that...and then, after all that stuffing about and inconvenience, they had the hide to ask me fer a 120 bucks to recode cos our phone number got changed by that service provider. Like hell, I thought...a 120 smackeroonies to push a few buttons? Crikey, it's not like I wanted to buy shares in the mob, so I let my fingers do the walking...found this crowd in the yeller pages called Bigpond.net. After the exchange of a few pleasantries, dialogue I could understand, I decided to sign up with 'em on a half price deal cos I bundled all my telecommunications needs on the one bill. Now how's that for convenience?
Now I know that Jafo and wreckless Eric have Bigpond and seem happy with it, but with a name like bigpond, I have a coupla concerns. Fer a start, I ain't bin swimming in years, dunno if I still know how! And if I gits inta trouble, is somebody gunna throw me a lifebelt
Given my initial impressions, however, I think bigpond has a much better support base than the other mob, so yeah, I think I've made a good/at least better choice.
Shoulda been suspicious of the other crowd tho! Advertising 'internet that flies'...and calling 'em selves DODO

Crikey...that means crocogators/allidiles! But if I sneak in very quietly, being careful not to disturb the nearby vegetation and bullrushes, etc, maybe I can bypass these magnificent monsters and surf the swamp safely, without disturbing the precious ecosystem......don't wany any bad publicity, like swimmin' too close to a protected species
