Windowblinds 5 shareware display properties error in appearance tab and no skin

I've downloaded today windowblinds 5 shareware, but I cannot chose or aply skins, even after push the rebuilt list button on wbconfig. Also, everytime I chose the appearance tab in display properties popus an error window saying :"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program:C:\Wimdows\system32\rundll32.exe abnormal program termination"; and sometimes appears a different error message.
I would like to test wb5, so please tell me what to do!!!

The display properties crash is a variation on the ODBC error dialog which some machines suffered from with WB5.  Later builds (currently beta, should be going release shortly) resolve this by switching to a different database system which does not require the machines database support to be functioning correctly.
