Fairyy,

Based on the described behavior, I would guess that WB config ran into a road block when it tried to load - and had either invoked an error, or was still trying to load (or read a file to allow correct loading).

Some programs seem to generate errors on start-up if another program either takes it's sweet time loading, or perhaps an update checker is using CPU cycles during start-up and creates issues.

Certainly not worried about your legitimacy as a WB owner/user.

I had quoted you on other thread only because you said to post the system info from the WB config...and I couldnt open the WB Config. I hadnt read the whole thread ..then relised it was about crack versions of WB 5 ..which I have a ligit copy of OD so I figured my comment wasnt in the correct area. Your explaination of a glitch at start up sounds good..I'll just go with it

For the record, the 77.77 Nvidia drivers did correct some problems I had...temporarily. They all came back after a couple of days.

NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX400
Drivers are 7.7.7.7 I tried newer drivers and had problems and had to roll back to these.
It supports the per pixel frames and I've had no problems....only notice that my transparency isn't as clear as other peoples I've seen.

So far no glitches on the following:

GeForce 5700 Ultra running 77.77, 81.95, or currently 82.12.
GeForce 5600/256 running 77.77
GeForce 5200 Ultra running 77.77
(all using DirectX 9.0c - VIA chipsets KT880, KM400A, and KM266)
I also had no issues when using my Nvidia NForce 2 chipset.

Don't know if Fast AGP Write has any effect, but it's off on my 5700U, off on the 5200U, and on with the 5600.

@seapup The MX 400 series cards at best will only support DirectX 6, possibly 7. Those cards just don't have the hardware support needed for advanced graphics.

@Orbitalex2000
does your Radeon IGP 320M allow you to have working transparent title-bars?

no it doesn't...it gives me transparent Taskbar, Start Menu, program menus....in fact transparency only doesn't work in the title-bar and the window outline....the preview in WindowBlinds Configuration gives an acurate picture

No prob for now...

My 7500LE 64MB as got some trouble with the Beta of WB5, I will check up with the lastest to see but I think it's to old to support PerPixel...

Hum pictoratus,
Can you sort the table ?
IE: put cards by Chip brand (ATi, nVIDIA) and by oldness?

ATI Radeon 9250 256MB PCI with Catalyst 5.13, no per-pixel blending at 1600x1200 resolution. Per-pixel does work with Catalyst 4.12 drivers, however.

ATi Mobility Radeon X700 64bit-64MB

No major issue. One minor issue: MDI buttons can not be skinned. I think this isn't an issue caused by graphics card or driver.

Nvidia 6800GS, using latest drivers. When I try to load a skin, I see the "loading" box in the new skin, but then all my windows, task bar, start button, etc. change to the unskinned "windows 95" look. I'm running Windows Media Center 2005 on a dual core Pentium D.

ATI X800XT-PE with Catalyst 6.1 on a very fresh install of XP SP2 (p4-3.2Ghz, 1GB RAM).  WB5 works fine but slows my desktop way down.  Happens with all skins that come stock.  Tried WB v5.00.01 and b.011.  I used Passmark Performance Test 6.0 to come up with differences:

Benchmark    no WB    WB5
----------- -------- -------

2D Lines     118.76    7.25
2D Rects      89.54   54.48
2D Shapes      7.90    3.46
2D Fnts/Txt  168.04   71.34
3DWin Simp  2014.39    9.39
3DWin Med    350.54   17.92
3DFullScr     32.41   32.41

I don't know what all the number mean precisely, but I can replicate them on demand.  In fact, no tweaking I've tried within WB seems to make more than 5% difference.

Since I didn't see it listed.....
Sony VAIO Laptop, Ati Mobility Radeon X600 256mb (128mb dedicated & 128 mb shared) worked on all releases so far. Lateset OEM drivers and bios upgrade.

Mjollnir32: The slow 3dWin results is due to a problem on ATI boards when a windowed D3D app uses antialiasing and there is 1 or more pixels of perpixel on screen.  This can be reproduced with a simple DX gadget on screen (on a multi monitor system you can even see the change as you move the window in & out of the screen the test is running on).

We will be reporting this to ATI to see if they can fix it in future drivers.

I can reproduce those 2D slowdowns and I suspect the slowdown is caused by the progress bar updating.  I will post here with more information when I get it.
