Just got me a Samsung Syncmaster 913v 19'' LCD monitor

How I love new toys

Wednesday, December 28, 2005 by starkers | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

At under $530 AU, I couldn't resist when 19" monitors are usually $600 AU +.....and I'm a happy as a pig in muck with it.
Although the optimum resolution is set at 1280 x 1024, I've been running it at 1024 x 768 and it's running like a dream with cyrstal clarity and excellent graphics through my ATI RadeOn 9550/most recent drivers. I read somewhere that you should run these LCD monitors at their native resolution for maximum peformance.....but it seems to be functioning well as is and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts/information regarding that aspect. Curious just in case I/we/the wife needs to adjust it.
Anyhow, I'm not gonna be around for a while, health issues, but my wife'll check in so post any relevant comments as she can make adjustments, if required.

Hooroo!

My SyncMaster 213T has a native/optimal resolution of 1600 x 1200. When I first purchased it, I ran it at 1280 x 1024 (same as work) without any problems. Like you said, it was crystal clear even at a lower resolution...and I have run games at lower resolutions and they are fine. I now use the native res, and am very happy with it.

Hope the health issues don't keep you away too long Starkers ...

I looked at that monitor just recently ...only thing stopping me from getting it was the lack of funding. I reckon you'll be happy with that li'l bewdy mate.

shaunna here, mrs starkers cuz he asked me to check up on it thank you ama02 for that on the resolution, mark was a bit worried about not setting it right. it looks ok to me so i guess it must be alright the way he set it. healthwise hes not too good and the doc has confined him to bed or he has to go in hospital. he keeps wanting to come out and play with his new toy, but i told him if he does ill take it back and buy clothes & makeup instead cuz i don't want him getting worse. that should keep him quiet lol. the pills seem to be working but hes in ga ga land alot of the time and i dont want him to have a fall cuz id never pick him up again. so he stays in bed or i call the ambulance and he hates being in hospital. I also want to thank everyone who wished us all the best because of my daughter running away. i never expected people so far away to be so kind and i appreciate it. a social worker is bringing her here later today to talk so maybe well sort it all out so she comes home. fingers crossed.

I'm not very good with words so just let me give you my hopes and thoughts for Marks health and your daughters return. I'm sure all here at WC wish you the same.

Nice Starkers Good people have good taste

I am running a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 930b TFT LCD and love it. That one only runs about $300-$350 depending where you look. High Res. is only 1280x1024, but that's fine by me.
