DesktopX on desktop level?
I think not
Sunday, December 18, 2005 by BAL0228 | Discussion: OS Customization
Let's start with saying that I'm a total n00b on OScustomizing...there, I've said it, now you don't have 2

Alright, you know the Quick Start/ Quick Lanch bar right? (don't know the exact English term, I'm Dutch). It's usually next to Start. In that bar you have a desktop icon, wich minimalises all running programs and gets you right to the desktop. Now, here's the thing, when you do that, you (I) don't get to see DesktopX or SysMetrix neither! I do see Rainlendar tough, but it looks like DesktopX and SysMetrix are 1 level above the actual desktop, because I only get to see those once I do a normal program back to it's original size, if you know what I mean. This sucks, because I use that desktop function a lot, and I don't get to see my really cool widgets and stuff.
Does anyone know how I can get DesktopX and SysMetrix on the exact same ''level'' as the actual desktop and Rainlender? And if this is not possible; how is this with Samurize? Thanks!

In any case, this question came up so much I made this: https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=579&LibID=34&comments=1
A simple widget which replicates and enhances the old Show Desktop shortcut.
Another option is: https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=643&LibID=34&comments=1
Also, there is a keyboard shortcut. I can't remember what it is. Either Win-D or Win-M. One works OK, the other--not so much.

That ''Minimize Everything'' Widget you made was just what I needed! I love the mouse over and the sound functions, love the fact that it can change color, and what I love most is that I can finally show off with my kick-ass desktop!
By the way: Win-D puts desktop on top (and widgets under it, so you can't see them), and Win-M minimizes everything, so you can still see the widgets.
O yeah, this topic can be closed.
