Also I just bought a new Dell pc WITH A PENTIUM D 2.8MHZ. What's the difference between a Pentium 4 and a Pentium D?
Any help from you PC experts will be appreciated.

It is still a Pentium 4....the D represents a series within that particular model. Mine is also a Pentium4(R) 2.8, with a D after it.

So, in answer to the first part of your question ...no, it's not necessary to run a screensaver.
...unless you like them, and want to ~that is

lol
As for the screensaver issue, I read somewhere that most monitors of all types don't have that problem any more.
I just like having a scrensaver. I think it has other uses like 'I am thinking mode' or just a way to show you personality while at work with the other drones.

Hyper-threading enables multi-threaded software applications to execute two software threads in parallel.

Isn't the "D" the new dual processor chip? |
I think so...mine lists as 2 units of 1.4 = 2.8.
