Could use some help, please!

Hello

Last night I installed WindowBlinds 4.6. I was a little confused because its my first time useing it, but I really liked the whole consept of changing how your Windows look. Great

But all I actually wanted was the tranparancy taskbar effect and so on, the Vista style. I really like it. Can I get that work with 4.6 verison of WB?If not, how and were can I find it? I also had a another problem, every time I restart og turn my PC off, I need to activate the Blinds agian....dosent stay the same. Just goes back to normal Windowx Xp look, how come?

Windowblind 4.6 does not do Vista style transparency. You need Windowblinds 5 beta. Currently it is only available to Object Desktop subscribers. You have 2 options here; 1) You can go to Stardock.com and purchase Object Desktop $50 US and worth waayyy more than that. 2) You can stick it out with 4.6 and wait until the public release of WB5.

There are one or two skins in the library which do have some transparency that will run on 4.6 but they are not alpha blended, they use what's called magic pink.

I forgot to mention the activation thing is one of those nag devices put on shareware to help you decide to purchase the product.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I still have a problem though. Is it a way I can save my WindowBlinds settings? So they will run on windows startup? I need to go into WB and select my skin every time I start up

There should be an option to run with windows startup in the "Basic Settings."

Lantec: which two are the pink magic? I know that PearlThane has a "transparent" start menu...is that one you refer to..?

I'm thinking that option is not available in the shareware version.

Scorpio Logic, I remember two that came out right after the Vista Betas were released. One had some font issues for me but there's a fix in the comments.

I got myself the WB5 version now, its greatBut I still cant find the Run with Windows startup. Looked in Basic Settings.

I checked your profile, unless you just recently purchased the Object Desktop subscription you shouldn't have WB5. You list as a visitor and not as a current customer. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that your profile hasn't updated yet from your recent purchase.

I'll check back later when it does update and if it has I'll help you out.
