Fly-out menu orientation
How do I change the orientation of a fly-out menu?

When I create fly-out menus on tabbed docks, the folder contents always flys out virtically (i.e. from 10 to 2 on a clock-face), even when the dock is on the left or right of the screen. How do I set a fly-out menu to fly out horizontally?

The fly-outs travel the width of the dock only.
You could create a dock on the side that is horizontal in orientation, and then the fly-outs would travel horizontally - though this also means that any side drawers expand horizontally when opening.
