New to ObjectDock and need help with fly out

Thursday, November 3, 2005 by hastafford | Discussion: ObjectDock

I am new to using ObjectDock and am in need of some help in creating a fly out menu. Can someone give me the simple version on how to make this? I would really appreciate the help.

Thank you,

Heather

Many thenks, everyone. I now have OD+ working 100% and can start to explore all the opportunities of this great app. Allows me to really clean up my desktop, and also to organize family-related subsections for different users. My (former) problem: I had been running OD free v. from 2 years or more ago, and the 'backgrounds' folder, etc, did not show up. I'd just dl-ed the Plus version and forgot/neglected to install and update Also, thanks to pinchecl for the mini-tute as far as drag-and-drop from 'My Downloads' to C:\>Prog.Files>Stardock>OD+...etc. Made the dl-ing and inst. of tabs, icons backgrounds et al just easy as I'd wish. What a relief it is!

I hate to revive this thread, but to ask something I posted later in this forum, in the OD+ Media Guide there is a sample showing several of what appear to be single tabbed docks on the bottom edge, set up as drawers.

With the "3 per side" rule, how is this accomplished? Or is that just a rigged screen capture?

BTW, it's that sample screen shot with the Alienware theme shown in the link below. It shows seven such docks on the bottom.

Thanks!

J-Mac,

That is not ObjectDock.

I believe it is ObjectBar, set up as individual bars - though I am not sure.

There was a thread recently (last 2 months) inquiring which program it is, I just can't remember what the verdict was.

Perhaps someone will chime in.

As for the "3 per side" rule, that is referring to setting a tab location on a dock, not a maximum number of tabs you can have on a tabbed dock. It does apply to the specific issue that was being addressed - not as a general use of ObjectDock tabbed docks.

i have a question too, i wanna lock my tabbed dock in place, so that it never moves around when i drag it, but whenever i rightclick on the dock i go to view but i only get "as small icons, as icons, as large icons, as names" and a dash below that saying show names. if you could tell me what my problem is, i would much appreciate it!
