How the windows taskbar hides: ObjectDoc & ObjectDoc Plus
Monday, October 10, 2005 by VSOP juDGe | Discussion: ObjectDock

Pic 2: ObjectDock Plus. The windows taskbar are hidden. Browser window are maximized.

You can see, they are different. When using ObjectDock Plus windows are maximized over the dock. I have the ObjectDock Plus, but I like how Object Doc acts with maximized windows. The place for taskbar stay free and I like it!
Can ObjectDock Plus acts as ObjectDoc?

Lantec: I keep seeing people respond to this issue by suggesting that WindowsFX be used. That might work, but (1) it's a bit much for such seemingly simple problem, (2) we need a single/integrated solution (i.e. one program), and (3) OD+ should just work as "advertised" to begin with.
At any rate, I found a great little app (xBar - http://methodik.pixelarmy.org/downloads/readmes/xbar-1.6.html) that will hide the taskbar in exactly the same way as the free version of OD, but thanks to 'moopenguin32', I no longer need it. Thanks so much for pointing that out! The ToggleBar docklet seems to work perfect for dealing with this issue. My only hope is that someone from Stardock actually reads these forums, and will see that this problem is asked about often enough to warrant making the change.

There are two fixes I know of: the WindowFX fix, and if you're using Windowblinds you can adjust the Screen Edge Clip-Bottom setting in Skinstudio.

richlivi: Please check out this Link, it lists all features included in both the free and registered version of ObjectDock. The feature we're discussing in this thread was unfortunately not explicitly stated, but like I've said, I have submitted the feature request to the development team.

moopenguin32: Thank you for finding a temporary workaround to this issue.
Here's the Link in case anyone has not already downloaded.
Having maximized windows not extend over the ObjectDock area is something we can hope for in future releases. Thanks everyone for bringing this to our attention.

Will that be adjusted according to the dock (and/or manually) or will it simply retain the same are as if the taskbar where there? I'd like to be able to manually adjust it with the option of OD automaticly setting it according to the smallest size of a zoomed dock's size.
I'm currently using DX solely to set the work area since WFX doesn't work with WB5 and I want to spesify the exact amount.
