WB5 on multi-user machine

Sunday, October 9, 2005 by Chef Garry | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I think it's time for this problem to have its own thread. WB5 works fine on my account both at work and at home. None of the versions released so far work on other users on my home machine. Builds a - c will not allow limited users to open wbconfig. This morning, I tried build d which again works fine on my account (admin). I tried running it on my wife's account (also admin) and it simply stopped responding. I wasn't able to kill it through task manager either.

Rolling back to 4.6 fixes things every time. I'm running XP Pro service pack 2.

We are aware that there are issues running multiple users and we will be addressing this problem in future releases. Unfortunately for now, only you will be able to enjoy the new features offered by the Windowblinds5 Beta.

Thanks Mike. It's good to know that it's a known issue that's being worked on. I'll patiently wait for the fix. Meanwhile, it's 4.6 then.

No problem (thanks for submitting the bug anyway). What might work is if you run wbload.exe prior to running wbconfig.exe (Windowblinds Configuration App).

The manager of development informed me they are working on a fix.
