Troubleshooting

How much work are you creating?

Wednesday, October 5, 2005 by ZubaZ | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I expect that Stardock is too busy fixing problems to be worrying about this, but how much efort are you guys spending parsing through all the troubleshooting reports that are being posted here or emailed to support?

I hope you have some magic in the background dumping all this data into a databse of some kind. It would have to be some good mojo because the format of the troubleshooting report is not the easiest to play with. And you never know what was added or removed when copied and pasted.

Add a "Note" field and a submit button to post to your DB and you might save some effort.

For the record, upgraded over WB4.6, no significant issues. Great release.

We actually pay attention to all posts made here (both the support team and developers). Though we might not always respond to bug report threads, we address the issues with regards to their severity/prevalence.

The support emails are all answered.

That would be a good idea-- to have bug reporting from directly within the program. Although in that situation, responses are not open to the community.

Thank you for submitting your idea; after all it's innovation that spurs revolution-- all ideas are welcomed!

Mike,

Please don't take my post as criticism. You guys do an amazing job. I have always gotten a response whether though the web forum, newsgroups (my favorite), phone or email.

My point was that tracking, trending, and avoidance can all be achieved through a database. That database can always be web facing so comments and public interaction are available.

Again, kudos to Stardock for awesome support and applications.
