I don't know, but MLB rosters are made up from the best players from all over the world.

The 1st World Series was held in 1903, 102 years ago. People thought differently back then. It's possible that if the series had a more recent origin, it might might not be called the World Series. There are baseball teams in other countries, but differences such as smaller ballparks make comparisons an 'apples & oranges' situation.
So Yes, the teams are all US teams, BUT, like Tarkus & SD said, the players come from around the world. Given the state of the world these days, I believe that having players from many cultures pulling together as a team to work for a common goal over several months makes a more positive long-term contribution than bringing in teams from various countries to face off against each other for a one-week series. (IMHO, of course)

It's one fo the things I love most about the game 
Multiply the effect times 30 teams & their farm systems.
And US players off the rosters or off season often play in other countries.

Nothing against Canada but if I am hypothetically going to consider another country as America I vote for Sweden. Swedes are way better looking than canucks.

I've yet to see a Swede, NT. Yrgal is Norwegian, and he's ok but not my type (since he's a dude). Maybe I'll have to visit there to see if you speak the truth.

I actually thought the origin of the World Series was that it was started by a newspaper called The World or News of the World, or something like that. Hence, the series is named after the paper who started it all, rather than any claim that there isn't any world outside the USA.
Am I right? Does anyone know for sure?
