Dummies guide to creating a background?

| I would advice you to start w/ one already made ...and just replace the png file (background) with the one you made and play with settings (.ini) file till you get the effect desired. That is how I learned hope this helps... |

If I am not mistaken, the following would apply:
As long as the image files are your own work (or you have permission for using images designed by another artist), you are not ripping the images - (Note: permission must be clear and included if you upload).
As for the configuration (".ini") file, the syntax is established and necessary, so you would adapt the configuration template to meet the needs of your images - therefore, no foul play here = no ripping.
A Java script, or VB Script would be a different story, and permission would be expected if using another designer's work.
Of course, an Administrator like Jafo may correct me here, but I think I have gotten it right.
