How much longer do I have to put up with this?
Ratings Abuse? NO. I must be mistaken...

Now what would you say abot the following:
Fall Forest (1024 x 768)?
- only zero rated.

I think the walls with the centered round images are overdone. (Even though I have done soem myself)...but this wall should have more stars.
And I agree with this, though I wouldn't say 'crappy'. (Mostly cause I am sure some of mine fall in this category.

This wall started out as a 1 star rating, and in a few days worked it's way up to 4 on its own. No postings about the rating, comments, or emails to the admins claiming foul play. (Excluding this one of course
) Even though it was a bit of a letdown at first, it does good to remember low ratings don't mean abuse anymore than high ratings can; demanding a high rating means you believe everyone MUST like your wallpaper, if they don't like it they are lying. That's kind of backwards as to how ratings are supposed to work.Everyone feels the sting of the truth from peoples opinions at some point in time, you would have to know why someone rated the way they did before you could say it is abuse.

Got a 0 star I suspect because it's just a wallpaper turned into a logon. There's no effort involved in that. It's a great wallppaer but a pretty unremarkable logon screen.

| 0 ratings are always a glitch I thought |
If they are, then I have had the same glitch on one of my walls for several months now.

The worst rating that can be given by a normal user that can rate would be a '1' star, meaning "I hate it".
... always thought that one was a bit strange ... hate directed at an object. What did it ever do to you? Sorry, I'm rambling ...

An initial '0' rating on passing through moderation will be a 'bug' aka 'the moderator forgot to post a rating'.
IF something was initially deserving of a 'zero' then it's equally deserving of 'failing moderation'....
When there is a plethora of similarly designed/styled walls their resultant rating will likely wane.....the phrase 'familiarity breeds contempt' springs to mind....others might just call it 'ho-hum', or 'been there - done that'.
Now, don't forget, folks....the rule is....Jafo gets $10 for every 'ratings related' thread....so keep 'em coming......just put your money on the fridge....

If that's the case you should be retiring to your private island any day now.

My point exactly. It seems that people are prone to rate based on their personal taste rather than the quality or performance of the work.
Filko's wall makes a good example. The design is well crafted (regardless of how many similar designs are there)
The details are sharp and clean. It is intended to be a 'dark' design; therefore the nature of the design should not be taken negatively. It is not a "busy" design, not distracting at all and the color combination is pretty good.
Opinions may vary but weight it all together and this wall is above average.
The same could be said about Horizon's wall that was given a 1 rating (very unfair)

Since it's a bug, could someone do something about my wall that has a zero. I realize it isn't one of my best works, but I think it desereves better than a zero. It's the Peace of the ancients one. Thanks!!!

It seems very strange to give it a bad rating since it's
neither a bad design nor a bad execution.
What gives?
